Or perhaps they are purposely avoiding to meet Macedonians. This is a huge problem with the Albanian minority in Macedonia - they do not want to integrate into Macedonian society, they only associate with Albanians and no one else. It is as if it's a great sin to associate with a Macedonian, or to speak Macedonian, or to acknowledge that Macedonia is your country. As long as this mentality exists, there is no future.

Let me give you an example,If an Albanian guy try to get in friendship with some Macedonians they will fight him or ignore him!
If a Macedonian comes to us he will be treated same as other Albanians, we will even speak him in Macedonian!

Albanians currently have many many rights

The least they could do is put up a Macedonian flag once a year on Macedonian Independence day and say: "Thank God I live in Macedonia, because Serbia or Greece or Bulgaria would never have put up with our behavior".

Actually Albanian childrens are learning in Albanian language and Albanian schools in Serbia!

You have more rights in Macedonia because of that treacherous Ohrid Agreement than any other minority in the Balkans. What rights do Macedonians have in Macedonia that you are missing out on? And how are the rights of Macedonians in Macedonia any greater than the rights of Albanians in Albania, or Croats in Croatia? Or is it only the Macedonian people who aren't worthy of a national state of their own?

Albanians make up 25 per cent of the population (according to the last census). In their 2011 party platform, DPA argues that they should have the same amount of power and state resources and the Macedonians. Now, ignoring the fact that a supposedly 'right-wing' party is proposing socialist idea's, why do you think 25 per cent of the population should have the same amount of political power and state resources as 67 per cent (or thereabouts) of the population? Macedonians number nearly 3 times more than the Albanians.

Another question I have is whether you think an Albanians' vote should have more weight than that of a Macedonian. Currently, under the Framework Agreement, the Albanian representitives in Parliament can veto laws relating to around 45-50 different matters. That makes the average Albanian voter proportionately worth much more than the average Macedonian voter. Do you consider this to be fair?

Hi all, new poster here. To answer this thread's quesetion, personally I think we should do a better job assimilating Albanians into Macedonian society. We should convince them to call themselves Macedonian instead of Albanian. We should convince them to favor Macedonian jazik over Albanian jazik. They are racially similar, yet very different culturally but it doesn't mean we can't convince them to be good Macedonians and proud citizens of our country. I know my opinion is probably uncommon and somewhat radical but I think our country will be a lot better if we could get them to be proud Macedonians and turn our country into more like Switzerland where everyone are proud Swiss even though they speak four different languages in that country.

I don't think an opportunity is ever gone. Eventually relations between the both of us will be reconciled. We will see the eventual merging of two peoples into a single Macedonian identity and that's nothing bad.

i never heard so much bs.As long as the two sides are divided there will be nothing in common.Whils't the macedonians are ready willing & able the albanians are not.You are all dreaming that will never come about.The albanians want secession rights their long term goal is connect with kosovo & albania.Their is no about face activity as far as we know.
