A simple google search will provide the proof you need. His father is Macedonian, his mother a Croat.

There are many articles which state that his father is Macedonian and mother is Croatian. This one sums it up:

I know of two tragic histories in the world- that of Ireland, and that of Macedonia. Both of them have been deprived and tormented.
