RE: ASX News release - Maiden Gold Inferred JORC Resource Over the Plavica Project

Dear Mr Pedro Kastellorizos

We are disappointed that you chose to refer to the country, where the Plavica project is located, as a name other than its constitutional name of 'Republic of Macedonia'.

Must we remind you that the concession licenses granted to the JV between Sileks and Genesis were issued by the 'Macedonian Ministry of Economics', which is a ministry of the 'Republic of Macedonia'.

Any other reference to the country, shows a deep rooted ignorance towards the Macedonian people and nation.

We suggest you organize a retraction / amendment to the ASX news release, and in future refer to the country you do business in, via it's constitutional name.

It is also not the first time this company has issued ASX releases using a name other than 'Republic of Macedonia'. If you look at page 14 of their prospectus http://www.asx.com.au/asxpdf/2009081...wkkkfzzvx1.pdf, you will see what an ignorant MD this guy is.

Anyway, there is not much you can do but complain.

Maybe a cc to 'Ministry of economy', but the minister is from DUI.

As we are an Australian registered company listed on ASX and operating
primarily in Australia, we are compelled to accord with the position of the
Australian government which, as you may well be aware, does not recognise
the constitutional name. Accordingly, we consider that the use of the name
"the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" is appropriate and consistent
with the position of the federal government

We understand the naming dispute is a sensitive subject for many; however,
rather than disparaging our company by inferring its 'deep rooted
ignorance', we suggest your time would be better spent contacting your local
elected official to air your grievances.

Machorot, you are right, they are not so compelled and the use of that term is only "appropriate" if they believe it to be themselves. In other words, if they believe that the Republic of Macedonia does not have the right to self determination like every other country. What I think is revealing is Pedro's inference that he/his company does not have "deep rooted ignorance" on the matter, which says to me that he/his company knows that the terminology they have used is offensive but still chose to go with it.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

Can i just say that Genesis Resources, as a private company, is in no way forced to use either name. It is obviously a personal choice. This choice shows disrespect to the Macedonian people and nation that your company does business with.

I guess with some respect comes greater riches Mr Kastellorizos, we are hoping that you will reconsider.

There should be a law in Macedonia that prevents companies operating in country (in any capacity, including joint venture) if they are to reffer to us as fyrom, either in Macedonia or outside.

These are basic laws that need to be put into place, if pedero doesnt like it he can fuck off
