    Not sure what MTO means, I am new to forums and abbreviations in general.

    I invite anyone here, the more the merrier... for coffee, beer or mangos even though it's not the season :-)

      Vodach, MTO stands for Macedonian Tinkach Opera. It happens often here.

      It is also more widely used as Macedonian Truth Organisation (MTO).

        Party

        It looks like a lot of fun.

        Very cool to see this kind of restaurant.

        I am at the other side of the world: Romania. So it its hard for me to go and have a good time.

        One day I would love to go to Australia and get a good feel for the culture and the wide range of entertainment.

        I like the pictures. Thanks for that

            Macedonian restaurants

            Hey buddy, noticed you were only here for a month so may of left by now but if u were in Darling Harbour you may of missed a quality Macedonian owned cafe in the City and walking distance from you.

            Mleko Bar is on the ground floor of the World Square building, you can enter via George St but the cafe is right near the Goulburn St entrance (in the foyer along with the 2day FM radio studio). They are well known for their good coffees in the City area (not being biased just cause Macedonian) and more importantly for their Maco infused foods such as the Kofte burger and I think they still do piperki polnati in the mornings.

            I am not sure exactly what they got now as I dont work in the City but they would have also at times have burek, Maco sweets and etc. I am sure there is more just cant remember as its been a while!

            Its a shame what has happened to all the Macedonian places. As already mentioned:
            - The kafana at Rockdale has been sold to Serbs and no matter how accommodating we were always to them by playing serb music and serbian alcohol, when the tables are turned, they dont care about us (that being said I havent tried the serbian cafe in warwick farm but will do now, sounds good!);
            - The europe grill place in Newtown is a rip off and they dont respect the Macedonians. I could go on for hours about them but after going several times in hope they would change, they didnt. The food was good in the beginning but even that went downhill. We even got overcharged and had our main meals before our entrees. Such as massive shame;
            - The kafana at Yagoona closed down too. Drink prices were over the top but people liked it, I believe they had problems with liquor licenses and the local police said there was too much trouble there (not sure if thats exaggerated!?) Believe it or not, after the kafana, the place became an Albanian kafana kind of place but didnt last very long at all.

            I have been to Luka's restaurant and really enjoyed it, the meat was really nice and I believe Luka herself who was there was really nice to us.

            There is a little cafe in Rockdale near the train station that does lovacka, cevapi and etc but no idea if they are Maco, Serb, Bosnian or what. Food there is pretty nice and decent priced for the servings.

            I havent been to the great balkan restaurant in Kogarah but i went prior when it was other owners and it wasnt that great.

            The Rockdale Illinden football club I think used to have food on friday nights but not sure if they still do after they moved to their new premises?

            There is the famous Balkan restaurant on Oxford St Darlinghurst (I think Croatian owned) but its expensive and the food now isnt what it used to be. There is also a newish balkan serbian owned place in Lilyfield/Balmain which I heard is good.

            When it comes to burek, you can find it in Rockdale at several places around King St, Bankstown and Wollongong.

            Speaking of King St mall, the korzo, what there is actually owned by Macedonians? Of course the bakery on the highway and the cafe/burek place in the mall and then the cafe at the top, but anything else? Is there actually much of a crowd around there coz when ive been, there really hasnt been.

            Other than whats mentioned, anyone got anything else?

            Cheers!

                      Well done to the owner of that restaurant for not being scared to first put Macedonian in the title and then to write it in Macedonian. Looks good.
