    What I find funny is that Macedonians are often labeled as being either 'greek,' 'slav' or 'bulgarian.' Often greeks will say 'your greek' then on another occasion, 'your bulgarian,' etc.. etc. This alone proves that these people do not know what they are talking about. These are all claims with no supporting evidence. Macedonia is a one and only nation, belonging to the Macedonians. These ongoing insults are absurd.

    Society across the globe must know that Macedonia and the Macedonians are a separate entity. Those who continue to insult Macedonians in such a way lack knowledge in this area, and thus they commonly result to attacks and racism rather than expressing their non-existent arguments and facts.

      Yes im aware what Slav is but what i wanted to know if you read my original post closely i wanted to know where this Slavic entity originated from that was all, i like to read on these sort of things as their is always different views of a subject.

      Plus i don't waist my time with people who seem confused, in my heart i know who i am plus i find it hilarious when someone judges you thinking they know who you are. I dont concede to rasists i resent that remark and you need to watch how you talk to me brat!

        Ok, so what do you do then, listen to them tell you;
        "oh your greek then"
        And then;
        ....don't waist my time with people who seem confused....
        Is that it? If so, I consider that a form of concession. At least make some sort of stance before you walk off and leave that racist piece of scum thinking he has some sort of superiority over you. I am trying to understand where you're coming from, I have no intention of insulting or attacking you for no reason, so there's no need to watch the way I 'talk' to you, brother.

          From my experience the average australian bogan doesnt know what the word "slav" means. And if they have a ounce of a idea they think is something to do with Yugoslavia.

          Usually when i tell people i am macedonian they say " so does that mean you are greek". I respond back by telling them that "no i am not greek, the closest thing that relates us to being greek is that one of our ancestors conqured all of Grease and burned athens to the ground". That usually shuts them up

          I think its just the sad reminder of the fact that there are a lot of "greeks" living in western countries, and due to their larger numbers they are able to spread their evil lies more easily.

            I'm not sure where you're living mate, but that has been less than 5% of the non-Macedonians that I have met.

              I suspect he lives near a lot of Greeks.
              I would say the figure is higher than 5% though ... maybe 20%?

                If I may digress a little...

                The term Greek/Macedonian is a made up term in the last 80 years or so. Therefore Greeks walk around calling themselves Greek/Macedonian as if its some authority.

                If you read aticles prior to 1913 you will never see the term Greek/Macedonian mentioned.

                I would think that the term Slav is an extention to this Grkoman idiom with the aim to water down the Macedonian identity, culture and nationality.

                Someone (an italian) asked me once what a Greek/Macedonian was. That was the opportune time to say that is the term some people give themselves after Greece occupied Macedonia.

                  Maybe its my "luck" but in my life time i have encountered a lot of people i.e traditional fair dinkum aussies or non balkan people who have stated that when i have said i am macedonian. I can probably estimate that its happened to me about 17-20 times in my life.

                  And then there is the few amazing cases where a fair dinkum aussie and myself would get into a argument on wether Alexander the Great was either greek or macedonian. In most cases like this i understand that sites like Wikipedia are to blame for this type of nonsense.

                    No chance mate, and I live in a state that has the most Greeks in the country. Most Aussies don't have a clue or are indifferent, only those that have had some 'enlightenment' thrown upon them by a Greek have said anything to the contrary.

                    You guys should associate with better company, lol.
