Not really, if Varcoe kicked that the game most likely would've gone to extra time. Hawthorn were obviously the fitter side, and most would fancy them to take it out in extra time if it were to occur. People seem to forget that the 5 point winning margin was created through Varcoe's 1 point. Regardless, if he had kicked that there would've been considerable controversy over the siren incident at the end of the game.

Freo have been impressive this year. They have been able to squeeze the life out of some teams with record low scores for at least half the game. Then only to sit back a little.

Freo should give the GF a good shake.
