The way he held himself whilst suffering terribly from cancer was inspirational. Honestly, I generally don't rate sportsmen that highly as valued contributors to society, but in this instance he was a true leader and remarkable man.

What a tragic loss. His will to keep going was phenomenal and inspirational to say the least. Even to see him mingling within the Melbourne cheer squad and showing absolute dedication to his club through very tough health issues shows that he didn't let anything prevent him from doing what he loved. Brave, brave man.

            RIP Jim Stynes.

I was listening to the FOX when they announced this a few minutes before his passing. Bog da go prosti

As the Macedonian saying goes (translated) "A Pear falls beneath a Pear tree"

Obviously Jim came from stock that was brave. Jim showed it through his playing career by playing 244 consecutive games and many of them he played with injuries that would have side lined majority if not all of the other players in AFL.
RIP Jim Stynes, a real honorable man, and also a good family man and had a heart of a lion. He did so much for his Melbourne Demons.

Hate to turn this into a bit of political topic, but on the subject of the IRA a lot of footy players in the past with a Irish connection supported the IRA. dermott brereton admitted he used to financially support the IRA, a few others from the 80's did so as well.

Are we supposed to get our votes in or what?
                    Does footy start tomorrow?

Yeh the first game is tomorrow, so at the least you will need to submit tomorrow's game.

I still see that a handful of people who were interested haven't joined up the league yet. Get on it!

The match between Richmond and Carlton tomorrow should be huge. Richmond has been hyped up beyond belief after their NAB Cup campaign, so I really don't know what to expect. Carlton should win, but with a few injuries in their back-line, I think it's going to be a close call.

In terms of match between Hawthorn and Collingwood on Friday, let's open up those wounds for the hawks supporters (including myself).

Round 1 was pretty much downhill for me after the first match.
