Inter knocked Chelsea out of the Champions League this morning with a 1-0 win to advance to the quarterfinals. Pandev's game was pretty average, although he had one brilliant chance which he should've really taken. Eto'o scored the winner and it shows that there is room for both Pandev and Eto'o. At the 72nd minute, Pandev was replaced by Stankovic.

Overall it was a pretty good game from what i saw, which was mostly the 2nd half. It's good to see Chelsea get knocked out though.

He did have quite a good chance, perhaps he didn't expect the defender to get to him as quick as he did, or perhaps he knew he blew his chance. Either way, that's how Pandev plays, up close and personal

Though I have to give it to Eto it was a good goal.

Its difficult to second guess what Pandev's instructions were, I would imagine his role in this game (away) would have been different to his role in the first (home)...regardless he almost pinched a goal...

Its all uphill from here on, Inter could get a tough side like Barca in the next stage or even Man Utd its going to be tough. Hopefully they get Lyon or CSKA Moscow.

Bordeaux beat Olympiakos 2-1 today, knocking Olympiakos out of the Champions League.
Barcelona also defeated Stuttgart 4-0, also advancing to the quarter-finals.

Barcelona and Bordeaux join Manchester United, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Lyon, Inter Milan and CSKA Moscow in the last eight. The draws for the quarter-finals and semifinals will take place on Friday at UEFA headquarters at Nyon in Switzerland.

Three English clubs have made it to the semifinals in the past two seasons, but only Manchester United and Arsenal have survived to the last eight this time. With no seeding system to keep them apart, they could be drawn to face each other. The same applies to French clubs Lyon and Bordeaux.

Inter Milan is trying to win the title for the first time since 1965 and is coached by Jose Mourinho, who won it with FC Porto in 2004 and knocked out his former club Chelsea on Tuesday. Arsenal, Lyon, Bordeaux and CSKA have never won the competition.

It will be interesting to see Thiery Henry face his old team. Should be a good game, hopefully the gunners win.

Moscow was one of, if not the best opponent for Inter and you would expect that they should win. Although underestimating your opponent can always bring surprises.

Bordeaux did not impress me at all either, imo, they would have been as favorable a draw as CSKA. Now I know they had a very formidable groupstage, and they are in the final 8, defending French champions, but watching them against Olympiakos they didnt look dangerous at all.

I can understand Azerbaijan but Romania? Surley we could have played them in Bucharest.

Instead of a friendly match with Bulgaria, Macedonia will play against Romania this June.

Macedonia's national team will not have the opportunity to test Bulgaria, as there were conflicting reports out of Bulgaria who upon the original request for a match seemed to have changed their mind.

Macedonia will meet Romania on 2nd of June, in Villach, Austria. This is a confirmed match by FIFA and it is listed on their official website. Previously, Macedonia is set to play Azerbaijan, also in Austria.

Grande Di Goran Pandev!!

He played 79 minutes and almost scored from a cleaver lob that was just tipped over the cross bar by the keeper.

But in all fairness Milito won all throphies for Inter, first he scored the winning goal against Roma in the Cup final, he scored the winning goal against Sienna which clinched the Scudetto now he scored a double against Bayern Munich in the Champions League final in Madrid. Thats a striker an a half for me
