What i find the most disturbing about that video (once i stopped laughing) is them mocking us for being passionate on the flag issue.
It's not really that. Look, we are all passionate about the flag and the flag is still widely used in the republic too.
It's more that Macedonians in the republic think that Macedonians in the diaspora should stop living in the past and accept reality. Yeah, we all want the old flag and yeah we all want things, yeah we all wished things would not have happened the way they happened, but it just isn't like that anymore and there are more important things to worry about right now, especially for people in Macedonia. Living in the past will not help us for the future.
So, yeah of course we can go raving on and on and on and be very patriotic and in fighting spirit about how things should have been and how we want it all to be, and refusing anything else, but it wont help us nor is it realistic and this is exactly why Macedonians in the Republic have second thoughts and some stereotypes about (they shouldnt imho, but they do) some of diasporas macedonians.
Plus, there is a huge poverty and high unemployment. There are so many Macedonians who are not even fulfilled in their basic needs, there are so many Macedonians worrying about tomorrow. Now, when someones basic needs are not fulfilled, he or she does not really care about a flag, a statue etcetera, in the same way as the diaspora Macedonians care about those things. Those things are not a priority anymore for that person. And, I can't really say I blame them.
People in the diaspora just haven't felt it like that, and thats competely normal, but they just haven't experienced these things and haven't endured these things. They have left and because of that, allthough still attached to the homeland, there is a gap between them. They have left it and when they ever came back, they tend to see things still as when they have left.
And of course, there is a big form of home sickness. Thats normal too and it creates a sort of romanticizing of and glorifying towards Macedonia.
It's also the same with the Albanian issue. Many Macedonians in the diaspora refuse anything Albanian. (Im not talking about extremist albanians or the acceptance of that, im just talking about the sole fact of Albanians being part of our country, which is not accepted) We can understand where it comes from, of course. But, its not them who live in Macedonia, and its not them for whom it is a daily reality.
Macedonians in the republic whether they really like it or not, we have to live with the Albanian Macedonians now, its a reality we have to accept. What do you want to do else? Expell them all? (Allthough i've seen this being mentioned on the forum and among the diaspora a lot)
We need to focus on the future, accept reality and stop living in the past.
The Macedonians in Macedonia they experience it and endured it and see it, because its a reality for them and they have also seen more positive things of the Albanians than the Macedonians in the diaspora. Macedonians in Macedonia also see that there are in fact Albanian Macedonians who also just want and live normally with the Macedonians, within the republic, without any problem.
So, these experiences and this reality the Macedonians from the republic are living with is missing with the Macedonians in the diaspora.
And no, dont put any words in my mouth or ask me any irrelevant questions like; 'do you support the name negotiations' or 'do you support the framework agreement'
I'm just trying to explain why the citizens of Macedonia feel this way and how they might see things.
Cheer up Bukefal......this thread is meant to be light hearted. A relief from stress where we can have a laugh for a change.

We need some more humour like this!
On Delchev's sarcophagus you can read the following inscription: "We swear the future generations to bury these sacred bones in the capital of Independent Macedonia. August 1923 Illinden"
