Niko, they are delusional, and are an insult to the species of homo sapiens. Their deplorable abuses against the Macedonian people, and our families, the oppression , and their false claims, are well documented .
Hell will have a special place for these "people".

I've heard of many Greek theories/lies, but that just topped it. "Bulgarian prisoners" ??? Come on... It's really sad to see such devious fallacious misinformation being used today in 21st century Greece to degrade our culture and history, trying to make Macedonians ashamed of their own language and identity.

It did indeed, why do you think that was the case?

The league of nations asked Greece to teach the people the greeks conquered( their languagewas Macedonian).I think the primer was in latin. If it were why?Greece was thinking of doing it but then it changed its mind. When the others found out Serbia & Bulgaria were upset they weren't consulted as they too wanted to teach its respective population Macedonian..The primer was later burned.
              the abcedar http://makedonika.wordpress.com/2008...n-greece-1925/
why did they write it in latin as the people would not understand latin they would understand cyrilic.

You can read various theories here

I don't have anything to add. It seems they wanted to avoid cyrilic alphabet and standard Serbian or Bulgarian grammar; still, they could use Greek alphabet (script) which would be more sensible and more... Greek.

It's the Greek wikipedia article for "Slavic Speakers of Greek Macedonia"

                  ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?

                  The article claims that:

                  1. the development of the Slavic idiom spoken in Greek Macedonia originates from Bulgarian prisoners who seeked work on Greek farms during the Byzantine and Ottoman era.

                  2. Circumstances forced the Greek people to speak the Slavic idiom and temporarily pretend to be Slavic only to avoid kidnappings of children and massacres from the Turks after the hatred that grew following the Greek revolution.

I couldn't believe how pathetic these claims were and can only imagine what children are taught in school these days in Aegean Macedonia....
Is this pathetic lie taught in Greece as fact? How low can these people go?
