Ali Ahmeti: "No World War III if name issue not settled in six months"

World War III will not erupt if the name problem is not settled in six months, DUI leader Ali Ahmeti told TV station Alsat-M.

Still, he expressed optimism that Skopje-Athens meetings would resume, adding that parties of ethnic Albanians stated from the onset what would be unacceptable for them.

"We will support any solution reached by Macedonian political parties, but without putting into question our interest as Albanians - the country not to be named Slavic Republic of Macedonia or National Republic of Macedonia", said Ahmeti.

The DUI leader added he had started to talk with the parties involved on the dispute's essence in 2004.

"We do not want for any party to use this issue in political goals by mentioning of patriots or traitors. Let's seriously engage in closing the problem, thus removing future obstacles", underlined Ahmeti.
