I think the author's heart is in the right place but he has no idea what the "Macedonian tradition" is.

I think the author is confused. He/she has Bulgarian nationalism confused with Macedonian geography.

Wasn't the Ohrid Archbishopric founded by Tsar Samuil on the foundations of Justiana Prima, or the Macedonian Christian tradition ? There were no "Bulgars" in Macedonia at that time, and Macedonian Christianity predates their arrival by centuries ! And wasn't the Macedonian Archbishop abolished in 1767 ? The creation of the Bulgarian Exarchate (1870) by a firman, is interesting. The Exarchate was intended to include upon its foundation, 16 Eparchies and ONLY 1 of those eparchies was in Macedonia (Velez). The notion that Christian Macedonian churches were traditionally "Bulgarian" before Bulgarian political units (including religious) existed, is simply false.
