In my opinion, our two (2) biggest achievements in the last 100 years are:

1. Independence and Freedom for one part of Macedonia, after 2 millennia of occupation. After over 2,000 years, it was our generation who finally achieved this. In my view, this is the greatest time, after Alexander III, to be born a Macedonian.

2. Re-Establishment of the Macedonian Church (Ohrid Archbishopric) after it was discontinued in 1767 by the Patriarchate of Constantinople (at the request of the Greeks) and the Ottoman authorities.

The Macedonians?

I would say that the fact that they have their own nation State is a pretty big accomplishment.

In 1900, there were over 400,000 Turkish soliders stationed in Macedonia, and the Albanian irregulars during that time devasted whole Macedonian regions. They survived that ! I would call that an accomplishment.
