Macedonia Timeless video in NY Times

    Tuesday, 30 June 2009

An article on the first video within the "Macedonia Timeless" series, directed by Milco Mancevski, was published in a New York Times supplement on travel.

New York Times treats Macedonia as a newly-discovered tourist destination.

The article is about the shooting of the video and is titled "Why We Travel" with citations from New Yorker Will Rosenthal, who visited the set of Milco Mancevski's promotional commercial.

    - Macedonia has this fascinating culture. It seems like every major civilization has marched through there and conquered it at one time or another, from the Romans to the Byzantines to the Ottomans, the Nazis, the Communists. They’ve all left their mark. It’s much more intriguing than Western Europe. It’s the Balkans, you know? It’s rich, and it’s complicated, and it has this real rugged beauty to it, he says.

Last month "Macedonia Timeless" won the award for best video at an international festival for tourist films and videos in Poland, while several months ago the renowned tourist guide "Brad" published a review on the video calling it "a magnificent commercial which at last presents Macedonia as an equal amongst many other excellent videos for top tourist destinations".

    fantastic promotion
    1) Macedonians belong to the "older" Mediterranean substratum...
    2) Macedonians are not related with geographically close Greeks, who do not belong to the "older" Mediterranenan substratum...
Working...
