Policy of england at the present crisis, with respect to greece

Here is an interesting article. It is from the 1821, prior to creation of the Modern Greek State. It is a good illustration of the English mind related to the Balkan, how they have seen it, what they were up to do and why were they doing it.

    The whole article is here:

    Taken from:

POLICY OF ENGLAND AT THE PRESENT CRISIS, WITH RESPECT TO GREECE
The Morning Chronicle (London, England), Friday, November 2, 1821; Issue 16393.

Thank you very much for posting this Makedonin. You have found a diamond in the rough.
With respect to this find Imperial England really had plans ready to go. Russia always seemed to be the looming shadow in English and French eyes when it came to the Balkans.

      With pleasure TM.

      Notes of interest are:

      1. The only people comprehended under general appelation of Greeks are the few in the Archipelago
      2. The Greeks are not ready to be lifted in to a Nation status.
      3. The natives of the European Turky are generally known as Greeks cause of their religious affiliation.
      4. But those natives are differentiated between them self as they are different to the Turks.
They are: Moldavians, Wallachians, Serbs, Bulgarians, Macedonians, Thracians and Epirians.

We have been saying this for years.
When Britain says it (before Greece existed) surely it can be believed.
What is so hard to believe about it?
Britain went on to help create the Greek State in a way that the Russians could not interfere. So I am sure these issues were never published again after 1829.

I won't go on about what caused the Greeks to become such "lamentable degenerates".

Interesting to note the distinction of the Thracians amongst the other races.

It is interesting that they mention the Macedonians.

Because by about 1900 the popular attitude in Britain is that there are no Macedonians, and that Macedonia is comprised of "Servians, Bulgarians and Greeks".

I am not referring here to the secret intelligence reports, and what the British intelligence services had actually known about the existence of Macedonians, rather than within official diplomatic circles and in the popular media channels and the popular literature Macedonia was misrepresented as a land inhabited by two peoples; Greeks and Bulgarians.

Members and supporters of the Balkan Committee in London - 1906. (All of them had something to say about Macedonia, and the Macedonians - positive or negative).

There is probably some good references in here about the Macedonian people, and atrocities committed against us.

So do we have any eager Greeks to answer on this one?

Macedonia’s enemies said there was no such thing as Macedonians “before Tito” – proof was shown and this stupid theory was destroyed.

Then macedonia’s enemy’s said there was no Macedonians before 1870-1920 as the “serbs created the macedonains”. However now we have huge amounts of proof of Macedonians and Macedonian activities from the late 1700’s to the early 1800’s.

They will keep on pushing the date back further and further. Next thing you know they will be asking for proof of Macedonian existence during the cavemen days.

I predict that they will create a new theory that the ottoman turks “created” the Macedonians in the 1600’s.
