THe video is saying typical propaganda that there is no macedonian nation it's just the government.There are people but there bulgarian.This couldn't be further from the truth.
What if there are macedonians & a nation & you have a stupid govt representing you & making it easy for the neighbours to spread their propaganda.Also this govt is macedonian & is weak at the knees & will capitulate & compromise at the first mention by it's neighbours.
That is part of the reason that the neighbours think they can ride roughshod over the macedonian govt because they can't stand up for themselves & be tough where it's needed.

Bulgars scolded in Washington over falsifying historical facts

An attempt by the Bulgarian Embassy in Washington DC to earn American honors for the supposed saving of the Jewish Community in WWII was met by refusal and protest by the Museum of Holocaust in Washington DC, reported MIA.
Official Sofia initiated a request that is currently being reviewed by Washington's City Council requesting the US city name a small square after Dimitar Peshev, the Justice Minister who is considered as the one responsible for the then Bulgarian Government giving up on deporting 50,000 Bulgarian Jews to concentration camps.
However, the D.C. Holocaust Museum responded that Bulgaria is responsible for deporting 11,000 Jews to their deaths from territories that were under Bulgarian control during WWII, namely Macedonia and Thrace, thus any sort of respect for Peshev is inappropriate.
Bulgaria's president Rosen Plevneliev got involved in the manner, in a speech in front of the Anti-Defamation League glorified the good deeds of his country during WW2.
However, facts tend to get in the way of Bulgaria.
US professor and scholar Michael Berenbaum who teaches at the American Jewish University in LA called the role of the Bulgarian Govt in WW2 "saviors in one way, brutal killers in other way". Berenbaum follows the same line as the Holocaust Museum, asking for the city to review not just the role of Bulgaria in WW2, but also specifically the role of Dimitar Peshev whose political party was the one to propose and adopted increase in taxes for Jews, identifying Jews by placing the star of David on their hands as well as sending many Jews to hard labor.
According to the AP, the Bulgarian Embassy received a letter from Radu Ioanid, the Director of the International Archival Program at the US Holocaust Memorial museum who was astonished by Bulgaria's repeated attempts to present itself as a country that was occupied by Nazi Germany instead of what it really was, their staunch ally. Ioanid explained that Bulgaria's current position towards their past is one of "expressing regrets, but have never expressed any responsibility for what they have done".
While Germany has recently released documents which ironically show how much money the Bulgarian Government received for rounding up and deporting Jews to their deaths (see below), Bulgaria continues to play its own tune incapable of looking into the eyes of their tumultuous past. //Marija Atanasovska
