Its not offensive, but I think it can be misused. I've seen articles, even by Macedonians, that refer to Serbs, Greeks and ethnic Macedonians. There is no reason to qualify Macedonians unless they're also using 'ethnic' for the Serbs, Greeks and others. That fact that they do is almost like they're trying to de-legitimise Macedonians. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations...This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution. John Adams

But there is another type of Macedonian. Ethnic Albanians living in Macedonia are Macedonians. Just as I'm an Australian who is an ethnic Macedonian.Risto the Great

How ethnic Albanians of Macedonia choose to refer to themselves is a different issue in my opinion.I know of two tragic histories in the world- that of Ireland, and that of Macedonia. Both of them have been deprived and tormented.

Why do they have to be famous? What if you're an Albanian working in a post office? What if you, as an Albanian living in Macedonia, also speak Macedonian and have life experiences that bind you to Macedonia?
Do you make a distinction between a national identity and an ethnic identity? It seems you do. If you indeed make the distinction, I can't see how you could exclude ethnic Albanians from this logic.Risto the Great

What's your point with this thread?
If you're really interested in knowing, then go up to some Macedonians in person and call them one or the other and determine which is more insulting by their responses.
