Macedonians are a part of the Balkans whether Greeks, Bulgarians or Serbs like it or not.

    Enjoy.

Do I get it right, that Greece and Bulgaria only denied the existence of Macedonians, after Macedonia gained independence?

    How hypocrite!!

There are some Germans considering Dutch people as ethnic Germans, though they are a very small minority though.. I find such clowns laughable

In this context, Greeks and Bulgars fit in the same category.

      That is right Thorvald.

Greece has never objected to the use of the name Socialist Republic of Macedonia - in fact in all official correspondence with Belgrade that is precisely how Athens referred to the Macedonian Republic.

So, you can understand that when Greece objects "on historical grounds" it is not a point that is well supported by the facts. For example, official Greek policy in the 1960's and 1970's did not object to the idea of the Macedonian Republic becoming independent.

I have never thought for a moment that the Dutch and the Germans are the same people, and as far as I know whatever it is the Germans believe the Dutch are is probably supported by only a very, very small minority of nationalists.
