We, the vlachs(aromanians), are not greeks. We are aromanians. We call oruselves armanji and we are not connected with the greeks. They refuse to recognize the vlach minority in Greece, wich is the biggest minority in Greece. The greeks dont recognize ANY minority in their country. They say “Greece is only for greeks”.

It would be good to get the perspective of a Vlach, I have a few Vlach friends, but they are all in Krushevo, Macedonia.

I have always found it amusing to read the assertion by some bananas that the Vlachs in Greece do not want recognition for their distinct language and culture, as if that somehow cheapens them in that xenophobic hole of a state.

In Macedonia, and I am proud to say, the Vlachs remain an integral part of our society and they live (as they always have in the past) on friendly and brotherly terms with the Macedonians, their identity, language, culture, church, schools, radio, tv, etc is granted and readily accepted. Some of my uncle's best friends are Vlachs, and he has complete trust and respect for them. What a shame they didn't achieve their aim of establishing their state in Thessaly.
In the name of the blood and the sun, the dagger and the gun, Christ protect this soldier, a lion and a Macedonian.

It is an interesting post by the TriKilaBanani, an Vlach German grammar dictionary from 1788, on Google page 389-390 you can see an List of National or Peoples names that the Vlachs were knowing.

One of them is Macedonian, the other one is Greek, the third one is Hellene.

There are also Romans and Latin, as well Venetian.

      All that in 1788....

I don't see an Bulgarian there, but Tartar ?
