For this occassion the Kumanovo insurgent’s flag during the Ilinden Uprising against the Ottomans in 1903.
 Red flag with yellow letters written Freed Macedonia - Kumanovo. A woman dressed in traditional Macedonian costume breaking the chains. In the background rises 8 Sun rays similar to today's flag of the Republic of Macedonia.

I have been privileged by celebrating Ilinden TWICE this year! Many thanks to Ovcarci for the fantastic and Patriotic Panagir they put on and Trnovo was the place to be yesterday! One message was emphasised at both events; Nema Egejci, Vardarci nitu Pirinci! NIE SME MAKEDONCI! Da ni e Zhiva i Zdrava Makedonija!!

Pavle Mevchev and Atanas Popov from Vrbeni and Boreshnica joined them in early 1927, they were soon after transferred to Kozhani and executed. As they were leaving Lerin they were heard to shout "With our death, Macedonia will not be lost. Our blood will run, but other Macedonians will rise from it" |
