Petros, you really do not understand the text.
And my people are the people being spoken of in that text.

The slavophone Greeks you speak of love me. I get on like a house on fire with them. They know what they are. They would have become the next state of Jugoslavia if it was offered to them when it was economically superior to Greece. Why are you presenting such a simplistic outlook here? What did Misirkov have to say about the Greeks? Please elaborate for the benefit of the casual readers.

Why don't you come from the other forum to meet "Greek Cowboy". I'm sure he is going to show you his love, and his is going to do so in your common tongue. He is not the only one. There is an entire army of them who have been classified as "Grecomans"

Let's see what wikipedia says about the issue:

"Grecomans (Bulgarian: гъркомани, Macedonian: гркомани, Romanian: grecomani, Albanian: grekomanė) is a pejorative term used in Bulgaria, the Republic of Macedonia, Romania and Albania for Greeks of real or perceived Arvanite, Aromanian or Slavic origin. The term generally means "pretending to be a Greek" and implies a non-Greek origin. Another meaning of the term is fanatic Greek.[1]

It should be noted that this term is considered highly offensive, particularly by bilingual Slavophone Greeks, when used by Macedonian Slav nationalists both in the Republic of Macedonia as well as in transnational communities (e.g. in Australia and Canada) to refer to the indigenous people from the wider geographical Macedonia region as well as Macedonia in Greece with a Greek national and ethnic identity "in a variety of uncomplementary [sic] names".[2]"

"According to a report issued by the Greek Helsinki Monitor, there are about 10,000-30,000 ethnic Slav Macedonians living in Greece,[22] but because of the absence of an official census it is impossible to determine the exact number."

      "Population Estimates
The exact numbers of speakers in Greece is hard to ascertain. Jacques Bacid estimates in his book that "over 200,0001 Macedonian speakers remained in Greece"[34]. Other sources put the numbers of speakers at 180,0002[35][36], 220,0001[37] 250,000[38]and 300,000[39].The Encyclopedia Brittanica[40]2 and the Reader's Digest World Guide1. both put the figure of Ethnic Macedonians in Greece at 1.8% or c.200,000 people, they put the figure for Pomaks at .9% or c.100,000 people, with the native language roughly corresponding with the figures. The UCLA also states that there is 200,000 Macedonian speakers in Greece and 30,000 Bulgarian speakers.[41][42]. The European Commission on language states no official number but acknkowledges that the languages (Macedonian and Bulgarian) spoken number into the hundreds of thousands.1[43]

1 This refers to speakers regardless of Ethnic identity. 2 No information is given regarding how the figures were obtained."

According to the above article, you have the loyalty of 10 to 30 thousand people, out of 80 to 200 thousands of people (except if you want the Pomaks for you as well). Based upon this information, one could assume that you might love them, but they don't love you.

Misirkov hated everything Greek. He tried all of his life to disengage his people from the Greek education and state. He failed...

Petros, the Slavophone Greeks you speak of, they call themselves Greek and are a product of a country that will not allow you to celebrate anything other than a Greek identity.

What does this have to do with Macedonians calling themselves Macedonian? Perhaps the Dopi feel hurt that they have lost everything and want to claim the name. ??? Yet the transplanted population appears to make more of a fuss about the issue. Extremely curious isn't it.

              They were always polyglots.

This is how the polyglot Greeks of Monastir defined themselves in the beginning of the 20th century:

"Laloumen ellhnisti, boulgaristi, blacisti, albanisti, omws apantes
eimaste Ellhnes kai den epitrepoume se kanenan na mas amfisbhtei touto"

The Greek state has such a tourism section that 15 million people arrive every year. In some places we have 3 or 4 tourists for every native, and you suggest that none of these can celebrate anything other than a Greek identity?

How is it possible for the Brits to get drunk to death and brake all definitions of lewd conduct, in a country so repressive that does not allow anybody to be anything but Greek?

On Greek islands, Brits get drunk and disorderly

12:00 AM CDT on Sunday, August 24, 2008
                          The New York Times

Recent events on Greek islands are fueling Britain's reputation as Europe's largest exporter of drunken hooligans.UGLY SCENES

                          • One tourist partied till the wee hours on Crete before giving birth in her hotel room. Companions found the baby dead. The woman has been charged with infanticide.

                          • Twelve women were accused of taking part in an outdoor oral sex contest on Zakinthos.

                          • A teen visiting Zakinthos died after a drinking binge.

                          "They’re Greek, we’re drunk
                          Rod Liddle
It is late August and the Greek islands have suddenly found themselves swamped by hypocrisy. Every summer young British tourists — slappers and meatheads and imbeciles one and all — are decanted from cut-price jets into the nightclubs of Laganas, Ayia Napa and Faliraki, where they set about rescuing the local economy.
Their mode of operation doesn’t vary: drink as much as is humanly possible and then form a brief relationship with someone they met just after they were both sick and, if still possible, consummate that relationship swiftly, and preferably in a public place. This arguably altruistic act ensures that the grumpy black-clad locals are able to enjoy affluence instead of struggling by with only an emaciated goat or a small weekly catch of mercury-laden sardines for income.

And this invasion of the 18-30 British untermensch — girls called Tasha from Stoke sporting a subcutaneous necklace of lovebites, boys called Dazza from Coventry in Day-Glo shorts — probably means we are obliged to bung the Greek or Cypriot governments slightly less each year through the European Union."

...And this what the Brits do. The Germans have bought entire villages in Greece and they live there peacefully. All of the signs are in German. Lately the Russians are buying, and the advertisments in real estate are often in Russian language...

                          P.S.

Yes, the refugees of the past and of the present make more fuss and with less knowledge. They are a constant embarassment. That's the fate of the Janissaries.

The coastal areas in Pelopnessos is almost fully German.

You are self confessed slavs, why can't we call you a Slav Macedonian minority within our borders and be done with it. You want your schools, newspapers, radio stations... no problem.

I am sure you realise we genuinely want a viable and working solution and bring you into EU & NATO. We do not want you to be close to the Turks, this is very bad for you.
