Add Atlanta, Georgia to the list.

Protests turned chaotic in downtown Atlanta tonight, with some demonstrators defacing the CNN headquarters and others smashing police vehicles. Protesters threw objects at the CNN building while chanting “no more police” and “fuck CNN”.

White House is under lockdown orders from the U.S. Secret Service.

I feel like we may witness a massacre in a couple of days. The authorities won't hesitate to use lethal force.

      Minneapolis earlier today:

I dont think so. They haven't used lethal force so far and I dont think it would be tolerated by American society, nor do I believe police would resort to lethal force against protesters.

In Minneapolis they tried to disperse protesters with tear gas and hold a line but after about 30 minutes they abandoned their positions and basically gave up on enforcing a curfew.

They also charged the cop with 3rd degree murder and will probably charge the other cops with something like negligent homicide or accessory to murder.

          I hope you are right.

3rd degree charge is a slap on the wrist. Imagine the mayhem if he is acquitted, or if others are not charged.

Not sure what news to follow anymore tonight. Many demonstrations tonight due to the fact that it was only a 3rd degree charge.

Up to 200 demonstrators have been arrested in Brooklyn.

Georgia has called in NATIONAL GUARD after protests in Atlanta descend into chaos.

A man has reportedly been shot in the face by riot police in Minneapolis. Minneapolis 5th precinct surrounded by protesters. Air National Guard has a blackhawk overhead. Pentagon on alert to go to Minneapolis, if required. 350 troops are swarming in on Minneapolis in the 5th precinct area clearing the streets and making way for the national guard.

          PS:

1st degree murder: premeditated/planned, 2nd degree murder: intentional but not planned, 3rd degree: an “accident”.

It would be difficult to get a conviction on 2nd degree impossible on 1st degree. I doubt he intended to kill him so 3rd degree is probably about right. I think charging the other 3 officers with accessory charges would be an eve bigger statement than charging the main culprit with a higher offense. As officers they watched someone commit 3rd degree murder, they could have intervened but didn't.

I would keep an eye on the southern states, I could see the police using violent force in some of those states. Anything can happen, all it takes is for one person to jump the gun and things can snowball quickly.

NYPD vehicle drives through "unlawful" rioters.

Meanwhile, National guard and Minneapolis PD sweeping residential street. Shooting paint canisters at people on their own front porches.

Minneapolis Police fires on MSNBC and CBS News crews with rubber bullets. No protesters anywhere near them.

                REAL bullets in St Paul.

If these were Chinese or Russian police, the world would be losing its shit and calling for emergency UN meetings.

So true and America would be the first country to push for them.

M1 Abrams tanks arrive in Los Angeles. Who are they planning to use the tanks against?

This is a bit overblown, the cops were attacked by a mob and were just trying to get away, they weren't trying to hit people with the car or disperse the crowd.

Meanwhile, National guard and Minneapolis PD sweeping residential street. Shooting paint canisters at people on their own front porches.

This definitely seems bad and it might very well be what it looks like, or again their is a lack of context. If you notice a lot of these videos are 20-30 seconds long, showing only a brief moment that can be made to look like a lot of things. Those peoples on the porch could very well have been on the street 30 seconds prior and ran to the front porch. Which is totally different from them having been their all along. You cant be causing trouble on the street Then run to your front porch and say ok now I'm off limits. Same goes for the cop car in the first video. If they Drove in out of nowhere and started raming through the crowd, that's one thing. If they were surrounded by an angry mob that had just lit multiple police cars on fire, then its much more understandable that they try and get away.

Too much stuff on twitter is sensationalized

Where did you see this, I can't find anything about tanks being deployed in Los Angeles?

At the end of the day its a lose lose situation. The police can't just stand around and let you burn buildings down and rob stores. The more they intervene the more people get angry and the more they lash out. If they sit back and do nothing then hooligans are going to burn random buildings down potentially killing someone, and rob random stores for nothing other than personal gain.

I will say one thing, there is a lesson to be learned here for feckless Macedonians. The ones that act like macho men but when you tell them to go protest they are worried about the police. The US has an army like police force and yet protesters won't relent. Macedonians have much more to be angry about, much more to gain, and yet they always sit around and do nothing. No excuses, if a big enough group of people get rowdy, their isn't much the state can do without getting extremely brutal. Why wont Macedonians learn that simple fact that everyone else seems to know, including the minority in their own country.

A lot of stuff is unreported or underreported in the main news channels. Maybe just hard to follow everything. Twitter/YouTube is the way to go.

Many NYPD units in riot gear heading to Barclays Center, there is a "full blown riot" taking place right now. NYPD Chief of Department is requesting a massive "Level 3 Mobilization Response" to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Tanks in LA were reported on Twitter. Looting out of control today in Philadelphia, Santa Monica, Long Beach.

Giant pyres burning outside the White House. Protesters burning American flags outside the White House. US Marshals & DEA agents called in to assist local law enforcement in Washington D.C.

                            From CNN

Two dead and a police officer injured after shootings in Iowa

Two people are dead and a police officer is injured after a series of shootings overnight in Davenport, Iowa.

Police officers in Davenport, Iowa were ambushed by rioters overnight, authorities said in an early morning news conference.

There's been another fatality reported, in Kentucky. At around 12:15 a.m ET, the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) and National Guard units were dispatched to Dino’s Food Market to clear a large crowd in the parking lot, the police chief said during an early morning presser.

“Officers and soldiers begin to clear the lot and at some point were shot at. Both LMPD and National Guards members returned fire, we have one man dead at the scene,” Louisville Police Chief Steve Conrad said during a new conference.

Protests following the death of George Floyd, a black man who pleaded that he couldn't breathe while he was held down with a knee by a former Minneapolis police officer, have spread nationwide. Follow here for the latest updates.
