The traitor Veljan Slavevski from Recica

Anyone here from the Ohrid region? heard a story recently regarding a traitor called Veljan Slavevski from Recica who betrayed all the komiti/vojvodi in the Ohrid region to the Turks?

i heard about the song, have you got the full lyrics? He was known as Veljan Slavev in the book i have, Slaveski must have been adopted later on. what else do you know rogi?

kazhi beh, i know it wasn't just Veljan Slaveski involved, his mother and two brothers also betrayed the Komiti, he was telling the Ottoman troops the positions of komiti.

It is very unfortunate for your grandfather GeorgeS, traitors that contribute to such an act deserve to burn in hell. Although it certainly must be viewed as a dark and shameful page for the family's history, I don't think the present relatives should be blamed for what their ancestors did, particularly if they don't condone it, had nothing to do with it or weren't even born when it took place.

In the battle when the Ottomans returned after the Illinden uprising, 190 people died which 32-41 komiti.

The Slaveski family was economically well off during the period Macedonia was under the Ottoman empire, they were with the Ottoman lords during before and after the illinden uprising.
