Here are the wiki articles on Muhammad Ali Pasha of Egypt, and Ibrahim Pasha, his adopted son. It appears that both were born as Muslims in Macedonia, although I would like to delve a little more into their origins, as they may turn out to be cases similar to Mustafa Kemal - Ataturk, ie; of part Macedonian, part Turkish (or Albanian) descent.
