7 Greek soldiers get 60 days prison for Albanian eagle incident

Seven army recruits in the Greek military were sentenced to 60 days in prison, after they had formed a pro-Albanian nationalistic symbol and posted a photo on social media.

The 7 soldiers, who are of Albanian ethnic background and were recruits at the Mesolongi army bootcamp, caused an uproar following their hand sign of the double-eagle symbol which is associated with Albanian irredentism and nationalism.

The sentences were handed down following a internal military investigation. Despite the sentences, the military prosecutor will continue to probe into the incident.

I have a vague recollection of it.
The same thing happened in Macedonia and the criminals were punished with running the country now.

If you do that hand signal now in Macedonia, you are first in line for a job.
