Professor Kramer has been doing excellent work long before the UMD. What I would like to know is that it seems the UMD have now begun to promote other events and organizations when you yourself have said "time" is a factor. You pick and choose what you have time for? If so, why not focus your sights on matters which are of major importance to the World Macedonian Diaspora - our name?

I volunteered my time and effort and wrote a report for Meto a few years ago.

That was before I learned he was for a name change, was conspicuously 'silent' on the destructive Interim Accord, and openly accepted our admission to a few Western clubs under the acronym FYROM, not to mention his support for a 'negotiation' process that was by degrees driving us toward political extinction.

I couldn't honestly in good consciounce write anything for an organisation that believed that the only way we could get anywhere was to practice the art of deception, subterfuge...etc. If UMD thought they could 'win' Western support by being seen to be willing to 'compromise' - and that has been in effect the substance of their 'pitch' since day one - compliant, obedient, and untroublesome Macedonians...etc, I couldn't be a part of it. From a moral and ethical point of view what they are doing is horrendous, leaving aside their efforts to censure Macedonian criticism (which in my opinion was just) on various forums.

The question again, what have UMD done to end the 'negotiations'? NOTHING.

There have always been two faces to UMD. The 'public face' which amounts to nothing more than rhetoric, and its private face which is its 'real' policy for Macedonia, and the Macedonians. But thats what you get for fking with our identity, and our name, Meto.

I want UMD to change, because I believe it has potential, but all you have demonstrated is that once again its the good, honest Macedonian who doesn't know whats going on, and trusts its leaders to do the right thing by them, that are being fked over in back room handshakes, and 'deals' which YOU are a part of.

Who gave you the authority, or the right to suggest name changes in backrooms discussion with foriegn political leaders?

Poor choice of words, because despite all of their 'resources' the UMD feel threatened by the MTO. 3. UMD co-sponsored the 7th North American Conference of Macedonian Studies at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
4. UMD organzed 2 Global Conferences where history and Macedonian ancestry and heritage was a major topic/theme.
5. UMD sponsored the travel of 6 students from the University of Toronto this past spring to learn about Macedonia.
6. UMD co-organized/hosted 18 Congressional Staffers to Macedonia this summer where they met in addition to Macedonian government officials, with historians in Skopje, Bitola, and Ohrid.
7. UMD co-funded the publication by well-known Macedonian historian Aleksandar Donski "The Ancient Macedonians Were not Greeks! (In Defense of Macedonia)" in response to the letter by Greek sympathizers sent to President Obama, and soon will distribute copies of this publication to all members of Congress.

All of the sponsoring, funding and hosting is done with the MONEY OF OTHER PEOPLE.

Without the donations that people have ignorantly afforded you - what have you achieved?

We have to be realistic, Macedonia if it wants to join NATO and EU it has to join under a modified name for those organizations only.

MK - nobody is taking credit for Professor Kramer's comments. Professor Kramer has been a Macedonist for over 20 years. UMD is promoting the comments of someone whom UMD has a great deal of respect for.

Let's not turn this into a UMD thing - let's focus on Professor Kramer and how important her statements are to our cause. Hopefully, we can get more such people behind Macedonia and the Macedonian cause.
