Western Europe reached hubris after the second world war. Unless something changes dramatically, they are on their way out.
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

The Revolution was in the minds and hearts of the people; a change in their religious sentiments, of their duties and obligations...This radical change in the principles, opinions, sentiments, and affections of the people was the real American Revolution. John Adams

Its odd isn't it? I always viewed the French as a very prideful people, it's baffling that this is who a vast majority of France ended up picking.

I also agree that by certain standards his wife would be a pedophile, but this type of thing is always treated differently when the gender roles are reversed.

Also since RTG has yet to comment, I will fill in for him, Marcon's wife is a pretty hot granny!

I guess in that moment of triumph the French anthem didn't quite cut it for this overtly pro-EU fellow. Anyway, if the below picture is any indication of the future, it suggests that people east of the Rhine will continue 'influencing' ole Gaul for some time to come.

            I represent that accusation!
Actually, she isn't half bad for an old zhabarka.

Let's put this into better perspective. Imagine the zhabarka, 20 years younger and as a french school teacher,

I would say bravo Marko, but 20 years later, it gets a little weird.

                Agreed.
But the comparison was made about the age difference between Trump and his Slovenian crumpet. Exactly the same difference .... but I know which way works better for me.

Yep, except Trump wasn't seducing her whilst she was his teen school student. So not exactly a fair comparison.

Even better perspective. (Sorry to get serious all of a sudden)
Imagine the the 45 year old teacher was a male and the 15 year old student (what is claimed Macron to have been when the affair began) was a female?

I'm not condoning this alternative in anyway, just stating the hypocrisy. People joke about it and some have even commented on social media what a beautiful love story. Regardless of who the older gender is, and adult having an affair with a minor is wrong today and was wrong back then as well.

I agree there is a double standard, we assume the guy was a lucky dog but the girl would be abused by a pedophile.

I don't know what its like over where you Kangaroo herders live, but here in the USA, a 15 year old girl is MORE than capable of knowing what she is doing.

Either way you have to draw the line somewhere.

Let me add another perspective to this...not too long ago, a 15 year old bride would've been considered the norm...and in some corners of the globe, probably still is...

Its a complicated issue, where do you draw the line? At what point does the responsibility fall on the adult vs the child. On top of t hat it seems the line is dependent on the gender.

There was a legal case in Britain sometime back...it is called 'Gillick Competence'...relates to issues of understanding of minors (<16) in cases of medical law...basically their ability to understand what is good for them and their ability to make informed decisions, the case 'Gillick' was a young girl who went on the pill after consulting her doctor, the mother found out and tried to sue the doctor...anyway...Google it.
