      I agree with SoM. If these 2 characters have struck gold why haven't they submitted their work to professionals outside of Macedonia for peer review and evaluation of how they got from point A to point B? It seems that these so-called Macedonian scholars have all the answers but never ever invite the outside world to come into their backyard and give a fair and objective review of their work. And the tendency by the average Macedonian to jump on board with some of these claimants and their promises of "proof" strikes me odd considering there's a guy claiming to have 70,000 year old Macedonian writing , or his colleague who claims that the olympic games started in Macedonia, or this rosetta stone business and then justifying their work by recounting their research which they will not submit to the world outside of Macedonia. I think we should listen to SoM in this point and question everything that may sound a tad bit ridiculous.

        Astibo, when someone makes a claim, the onus is on them to corroborate that claim, and not on others to disprove something which is yet to be proven. Therefore, the question you should be asking is - how do we know that anc. Macedonian was used as an official literary language?

        And rightfully so, because they haven't done enough to disseminate their works to the wider linguistic community so it can be criticised by others. My opinion remains reserved until I do some further research and comparisons between the translation provided by Boshevski/Tentov, and the Greek (and its English translation) text. But like I said earlier, I am not too optimistic as I can already notice some elements in their works that don't appear to make much sense.

          Here is the complete English translation of the Demotic text as is currently accepted by most scholars. Does it match that of Boshevski and Tentov? Do they have a complete English translation of their attempt?

            The most common misconception people have about the Rosetta Stone is that it is written in two languages in three scripts. This is not true. It is indeed written in three languages, like the two Macedonian "scholars" claim, except they missed the second language. The Rosetta Stone is written in Middle Egyptian in the hieroglyphic script, in Demotic Egyptian in the demotic script, and in Greek in the Greek script. The difference between Middle and Demotic Egyptian is equivalent to the difference between for example Latin and modern Italian, or Old Church Slavonic and modern Macedonian. The Egyptian commoners (the demos, hence demotic) could neither read the hieroglyphs nor understand the Middle Egyptian language which was ancient to them. I have studied a bit the differences between the various stages of the Egyptian language and they are quite vast from the oldest (Old Egyptian) to the youngest (Coptic Egyptian) because Egyptian has the longest continuous written record in history. It's over 4000 years and still counting (Coptic is the liturgical language of the Coptic Egyptian Orthodox Church).

                Would it not be correct to say that one language was "Koine" and using a modified Phoenician script (or even a modified Pelazgian/Paleo-Balkan script)?

Although i have heard about you and it was nothing but praise. Lets hope you stick around and hopefully i can learn something from you.                     I'm only curious how did Boshevski and Tentov managed to ignore or oversee the fact that Demotic is a well documented and researched language. They constantly claim (and one of them did in our e-mail correspondence) that this is not true and that the Egyptologists really know very little about the Demotic language. Unfortunately for them reality is quite different. And the reason why so man lay Macedonians were persuaded in their arguments is because most people just don't know anything about the ancient Egyptian language, not to mention the history of their own language (the two scholars seemed to have been completely ignorant of Old Slavonic and its grammar). Instead of wasting time on trying to prove that the Ptolemids spoke and wrote in Macedonian, why not put a bit more effort in teaching the people something about the actual language of their ancestors, Macedonian dialect of Old Church Slavonic. If Greeks have compulsory classes of Ancient Greek in school, shouldn't Macedonian children be taught at least rudiments of Old Slavonic? Instead they have two years of Latin in high school and end up not knowing a dime of it.

                            I was just kidding that they might need a holiday because they work so hard.What a holiday!

                            Well i'm pleased that what the rosetta stone proves is that macedonians simply didn't speak just greek they also spoke macedonian.The greeks are going out of their way to demonstrate that the greek language & macedonian are one of the same which is not true.

                            JUst one question Som on the side of the pamphlet it says skype lecture at u of t does that mean that you can watch it on your pc????can you find out??

                              George, you do realize we (I and SoM, as well as others) don't think that the Demotic text of the Rosetta Stone is written in Macedonian, and that Boshevski and Tentov are complete crackpots.

                                Slovak, have you ever tried to read the interpretation given by Boshevski & Tentov, and if so, does it correspond with the English translation of the Greek text, at least in context?
