I'm not sure if any of you are familiar with this project, but the Office for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage has been building a church museum within the Kale complex in Čair after the foundations of a 13th century church had been unearthed.
Last night people from the area which is overwhelmingly Albanian, supported by DUI, have vandalized the site because the government has not considered their calls for the building a mosque within the same complex, despite the fact that there were never any Islamic monuments there.
I've spoken to some people from Čair (I had once lived there) and was told that gangs are being organized to destroy whatever further additions are made, and that some may try to intimidate the construction workers.
EDIT: I'd like to add that their claim that workers were building secretly is untrue. Pasko Kuzman has said there would be a temporary halt to mellow the tensions, but the project was never canceled.
