Report on Macedonia adopted by EP Thursday is small diplomatic victory: Ivica Bocevski

Macedonian Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs Ivica Bocevski has said the report on Macedonia adopted by the European Parliament on Thursday in Strasbourg is a diplomatic victory for the country, Focus News Agency’s correspondent in Skopje reported.
The report calls on the European Commission to set a starting date for EU talks by the end of this year and lift the visas for Macedonian citizens.
Bocevski says with today’s discussion Macedonia has marked a small diplomatic victory because the final text of the resolution reads that the bilateral relations in the Balkans should not hamper the countries’ integration into the Euro-Atlantic organizations. In this way the proposal for a change in the text, which was a point of intersection in the EP, was adopted in its full text, Ivica Bocevski said at a press conference.
The deputy prime minister says the report calls on Macedonia’s neighboring EU member states not to block Macedonia’s European integration.
