Philip Petrovski probably takes it. Sds without the shiptars can't win. The shiptars are putting forward their own candidate, sds the same. Whoever the dpne candidate is will win it, Petrovski is so far the more well known.

The presidency has power should the holder choose to use it. Petrovski has talked a big game in the last few months, curious to see what he does if he get the seat.

The bust up between sds and DUI is about fielding a joint candidate who is Albanian from what I hear. Sds hasn't agreed to that... yet. I think they might agree to it, other wise they have no chance.

The "breakup" was seemingly brought about by the PIOM scandal (PIOM = Pension and Disablity Insurance Fund of Macedonia), which was exposed in recent days by Mila Tsarovska, and caused lots of tension between SDS and DUI.

To summarize, roughly 12000 properly insured people were left with no money in their private pension funds. Employers regularly paid for their retirement benefits but the state pension fund (PIOM) kept the money for itself and did not transfer it to the private pension funds, so the citizens' accounts stayed empty for years. In some cases, accounts were not even opened.

During the period mentioned by Tsarovska, the directors of PIOM were DUI staff: Isni Jakupi, Bekim Neziri and Shaip Zenelji.

Meanwhile, ethnic Albanian politicians are still pushing for the president to be elected by the members of the assembly rather than the people.

Anyway. I noticed that Filip Petrovski has just put forth his candidacy as president through DPNE. Some aspects of his past record are questionable but recently he has been one of the few leading voices against the treachery inflicted by Zaev and co. Will he be advocating to reverse the recent betrayal by any means necessary?

There is also Vlatko Gjorchev for DPNE, who is another Gruevski stooge like that idiot Mickoski who currently runs the party. Then there's the recent announcement by the ethnic Albanian politicians who will be fielding their own candidate.

Who else is in the mix?
Aren't the rumours that SDS will run an Albanian candidate or that they won't run any candidate and support an Albanian party candidate?

In the event that a Macedonian is elected President, he will do absolutely nothing (besides courting foreign praise for his progressive anti-Macedonian views and diverting massive amounts of public funds into his own accounts).

Other than Petrovski and Gjorchev I'm not sure if there are any other specific names/candidates at this point. On that note, how can both of them be running through/for VMRO-DPMNE? Is the party planning on vote splitting its own party/electorate?
