Lavrov: Who staged an Illegal OSCE 'Mission' to Macedonia?
Friday, 22 May 2015
"Towards the end of April, a group of 4-5 individuals from OSCE (US, UK, Turkey and Denmark) came to Macedonia and proclaimed itself to be an "OSCE Mission" despite them not having or being under an OSCE mandate. During their stay, the said individuals issued demands and requests from Gruevski's Government" stated Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a Q&A session in the Russian Senate.
Lavrov explained the OSCE "representatives" were not sent by OSCE, adding they abused the name of the international organization in an attempt to exert pressure on Macedonian authorities.
Lavrov had requested the OSCE general secretary and current presidency (Serbia's Ivica Dacic) to provide information under whose authorization the individuals decided to visit Macedonia.
The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed deep concern of the never ending "colored revolutions" across the globe, and particularly in Europe. Lavrov insisted that independent experts and legitimate representatives approved by all parties can go to Skopje and receive information, but not what occurred at the end of April.
"We see a delegation without a mandate making a secret visit to Macedonia, it's easy for this to be swept under the carpet" said Lavrov. OSCE's office in Vienna didn't have a comment on the requests made to provide information on their unofficial visit to Macedonia. It also didn't have a comment whether OSCE has difficulty controlling their rogue employees who appear to have other bosses as well.
What is really the concern?
For specific circles in Washington and Brussels the court process against SDSM's leader Zoran Zaev is what caused an alarm, as stated by both Milenko Nedelkovski and Mirka Velinovska in editorials for Nova Makedonija and Dnevnik.
The Macedonian authorities have evidence that directly implicates the US, UK and few EU countries of being behind the attempted coup, with Zaev being simply their puppet. This evidence will become publicly available during the Court proceedings, thus the extensive efforts to stop the prosecution of Zaev by staging numerous incidents. Zaev, in conversations with Verushevski, repeatedly named the current British Ambassador to Macedonia as his "handler". The implications of the Anglo-American attempts to destabilize Macedonia go even further, it's not just the coup and the financial backing of the opposition, but their direct involvement in Goshince and Kumanovo. //Gorazd Velkovski
