Macedonians in Lažec threatening to leave the Village

The people of this village are threatening to leave the country and look for asylum in Greece if they allow the Albanians to build a mosque in the village.

I've been to this village back in 05 when this issue started. Many Macedonians from surrounding villages entered the village to show support for the locals and police had to step in. The descision to build this mosque was delayed and the matter was taken to some tribunal which later favoured the Ethnic Macedonians. The matter was left at that, now why has this issue arisen again?

From what i understand of this situation is this.
Regardless of what the artical says (The site is at the entrance of this village) , the proposed site is vertualy smack bang in the middle of the village. Which the area is densely populated with many houses all sides of the site.

This site used to have a Mosque on it Belonging to the Turks which was built during the Ottoman empire.
Over many years during the last century the mosque collapsed due to neglect and lack of maintenance and lack of use (And this was due to not many Turks living in Lazec from the middle of the last century to now). On top of that, you can include the many wars.
So all we have standing on this site, are the foundations and nothing else.

Albanian argument,
A) There used to be a mosque on it so why can't we rebuild it

B) According to them, the Koran suggests that Mosques are situated in the middle of villages.

Macedonian argument,
A) Prior to this mosque built by the Ottoman turks, a church used to stand there which was knocked down by the Turks because of its location was ideal. (Further excavation ordered by the courts proved this to be fact when the excavators discovered different foundations under the current foundations)

B) Because around the site being heavily populated, and street so narrow and the early morning calling rituals, the site is inappropriate and would cause much problems such as congestion and noise.


What i find insulting and wrong, is the church is on the out skirts of the village. Now apart from the sleepless nights, i understand why the locals would be angry to have a mosque in the middle while the church remains outside. Its another sign of Albanians ruling or having priority over the indigenous Macedonians.

Also, What claim has the albanians got over something that belonged to the Turks? But if you are not aware, the Albanians in ROM like to claim power or rightful ownership on any mosque old or new.

I am friends with 2 families from this village. Apparently in the 1980's the Albanians began building a mosque in the same area and the Macedonians burned what almost became a mosque.

Re population ratio, the artical is quite accurate. About 120 Macedonians 80 Albanians. No other Ethnics live there.

The sad thing is, Lazec once upon a time was one of the largest populated village. over 500 Macedonians. My father comes from that village. According to my father, the village use to field two soccer teams. When they celebrated vasilica, they use to have two parties going on at the same time. It was 90% Macedonians back then and apparently the other 10% were Turks not Albanian well mabe a family or two were Albanian. So like the other neigbouring villages, the Macedonians went abroad and Albanians moved in.

Let me say this aswell, The people from Lazec will not let this happen. People of Bitola will not let this happen. Like i said in my first post, the villages around Lazec show solidarity. People in car loads from Bitola arived back in 05 when trouble was brewing and the Albanians in Lazec shit bricks. Its been 5 years since and nothing has happened since untill now. I supose they are getting brave again and All the Albanians can do is try but they will not succeed I can bet my life on it.



TM....thanks for this link. The guy in the white T shirt is well known to us actually the whole Bitola. He is Vasil chamishov aka Charles Bronson. child hood friend of my father. He usually wears a cowboy hat and this is the first time i have seen him with out it.

Vasil moved to the US around the same time my father took off. He worked till he reached pension age and returned to his place of birth together with his wife and kids now he lives like a king living of his US pension. He is a lovely generous man. Everyone loves him. I had the pleasure of meeting him back in 05. He is a good example of what all stranci should do. Go back and rule Lazec again.

Listen to what Vasil Chamishov has to say. He covers somethings that i said in my first post regarding where our church is placed and so on. Listen to what he says about the options the gov have. This seeking asylum in Greece is Bullshit. They will not give up.

This is the biggest problem we are facing, the Albanians are using IVZ to take over all the mosques and religious objects. They pretty much want to take everything that was built during the ottoman empire, its unbelievable. Here you have Ethnic Turks who have been in Macedonia for over 600 years, not making problems while the Albanians want everything for themselves.

My Grandfather is from Lazec and i don't think he would be happy about having a Mosque in the middle of the village. This dispute has been going on for ages. Plus doesn't it already have a Mosque in the Village? this was once a majority Macedonian Village and then everyone left.

I hope the Macedonians from Lazec get there way.

Very sad news to hear that a once predominantly Macedonian village is now another victim of aggressive shiptar gheg colonisation. The ghegs can take their mosque and drug/pimp money and shove it up their corrupt arses.

You know 2 different Albanian in this forum told me that all the muslim people in Macedonia was/are Albanians, including everyone who migrated to Turkey. Even one of them sent me couple of youtube videos of Macedonian Turks and told me like "Look, these people call themselves as Turks but they don't look like Mongols, so they should be Albanians"!!! Onur, The point was Ottoman Turks are the original owners of these artifacts, they built them yet you have Albanians saying its theirs just like saying that Mother Teresa is Albanian when she is Vlach. They are constantly beating their chests saying how they are so important and that Macedonia wouldnt exist if it wasnt for them when at the same time there are other minorities in Macedonia like the Turkish Minority for example that has done much more then them for our country and they dont say anything.

Hey, I'm just saying what I have experienced with bitolcani in Australia. When you see them working for serb companies, they identify themselves as serbs and say that Makedonija should have stayed in Yugoslavia.

Not all bitolcani are traitors, but, they will do anything for money.
