VMRO Narodna Partija tried to mark the death of Vancho Mihajlov on the 4th of Sept 2014 in his birth village of Novo Selo (Shtip).

This was headed by Zoran Kostovski, President of VMRO-NP.

Possibly because it wasn't worthy of media attention.

I've recently found articles where it was reported that Mihajlov had been assassinated.

It could be possible he faked his own death or even spread rumors of his death to elude the Bulgarian authorities and even the Protogerov faction of VMRO.
