The Black Crowes.
This band absolutely rocked me for a few years.
I saw them live and it was one of the very few times I partook in the magic herb. It was a phenomenal concert. This song played and just before 4:51 of the video all the lights cut out, then a huge flash ... all lights on ... and someone stage dived at precisely the same moment as the 2 guitars came together for an Allman Brothers moment. It was poetry ... or drug induced hysteria. Either way, I am a sucker for this kind of rock. Don't even get me started on Lynyrd Skynyrd!

I never forget seeing David Lee Roth (solo) with Steve Vai. The highlight of the night was Vai hitting a harmonic note, peeling off his guitar and throwing it about 8 feet in the air. The harmonic is still ringing and he catches the guitar and heads into yet another soul crushing solo! Entertainment!Originally posted by Tomche Makedonche View Post(by the way I'm a Roth man
There was a reason why Frank Zappa called Vai his "stunt guitarist" on his albums.

Going on from Tomche's post a few pages back, as much of a nut Ozzy Osbourne is, he does have some quality songs.

Probably one of his best.

Yeah, I like the Tikvi and I agree that Siamese Dream was their best body of work but they've got an interesting story, albeit a familar one that has ended in tragedy like so many other promising talents...There was a good interview with Billy Corgan in the Feb issue of MojoOriginally posted by Tomche Makedonche View PostPhoenix
Didn't know you were into Krshenje Tikvi hehe, I think my favourite album is still Siamese Dream, as much as Melancholy offered, songs like Cherub Rock, Mayonnaise, and Disarm are still the standouts for me. As you can see from your clip, Corgan's also a Fender man like Riste, by the way have you gotten any closer to making a purchase? (thread has sort of taken another direction)

A great stripped back version of a Ramones classic by Aussie band 'Faker'...

Looks like Ronnie is on a Martin no less.
Keith is the ultimate rhythm guitarist ... he has sat in the groove for like 50 years.

RTGOriginally posted by Risto the Great View PostI think our dear vocalist hailing from the great Kotori may have been on mind altering drugs when he met Kossof. His ancestry wasn't Macedonian when I read up about him ... I dearly hoped it was!
I think you're right, the surname was a giveaway for me, he still claims him as Maco, then again he hasn't got off those drugs yet so perhaps a pinch of salt should be taken!

I finally got a chance to play the clip........awesome!
My information is that kossof is Macedonian - coming form a well known local Macedonian vocalist form "The Nazz" who actually knew him

I keep smiling whenever I read this thread.
I've been meaning to comment on your music posts Tomche, Dragan & Phoenix and will in due course. Clearly we are victims of Western imperialism or umm music. I will be away on business over the next week but I hope all MTO'ers can keep giving insights into their guitar oriented musical preferences.

Zdravo Dragan, for someone who's not a fan of Metal, you sure made a hell of a pick from Metallica's catalogue . Hammet's best work was definitely from the mid 80's , Fade to Black, Disposable Hero's and Damage Inc are some of his stand outs for me, but honestly the last quality solo that I reckon he produced was Unforgiven and that was over 20 years ago now, these days it's just sloppy playing with no direction which he tries to cover with a whah most of the time, it's a shame really... but I've always digged that harmony section you pointed out (which I think was Hetfield's creation)
