They may have had an ancestor who was Albanian, or one who associated with them, or their Macedonian family lived among them, or their village was ruled by an Ottoman Albanian beg. Or, they may have originally been Macedonians from Albania. Their name probably started off as a nickname and eventually developed as a formalised surname over time. This would have happened a very long time ago, whatever it may have been, his family are most definetly Macedonian.
