(RTTNews) - Macedonian industrial production increased in January due to higher output in manufacturing as well as mining and quarrying sectors.
Industrial production grew 5% year-on-year in January, data released by the State Statistical Office showed Monday. Manufacturing output grew 8%, while production in the mining and quarrying sector rose 2.4%. Utility sector output declined 4.8%.
Production of intermediate goods, excluding energy, was higher by 16.8% over last year, and there was a 73.1% surge in the production of capital goods. Output in the durable consumer goods industry climbed 19.5%.
Meanwhile, energy production dropped 6.1% during the month. Output of non-durable consumer goods dropped 1.8% annually.
