Any reason why it isn't being held at the Macedonian Hall Daniel?

Hi Risto,

In response to your question, the reason the concert is being held at the Slovenian Club is for two main purposes

1) Overall it has a larger capacity and larger facilities.
2) It is in a different zoned area allowing for the concert to go longer into the night.

On behalf of the organisers, we look forward to seeing everyone there.

Interesting that the Slovene Center is bigger and has more facilities then the macedonian one.

I would have figured it would be the other way around, considering there are only 16,000 slovenes in australia, whilst there are 84,000 thousand macedonians in Australia.

Im guessing Adelaide is the rare exception were the slovenes outnumber the macedonians????

The Slovenian politicians are right up there with the Greeks in terms of an anti-Macedonian stance. It would not have been my choice of location for a show. I guess anything is possible when events are funded privately.

I am yet to meet a Slovenian from Adelaide.

Based on David's answer, it sounds like a superior hall with the option of playing longer through the night. Which is fine. David is a genuine guy and Macedonians in Adelaide will enjoy the fruits of his initiative.

The dark miserable sort in me instantly assumed the Macedonian Hall was being bypassed because it might offend some of Petar's flock.

I know what you mean my friend, here in Perth we still cheer for serbian football clubs and support and organise a lot of their musical acts to come to WA, i think there are still a lot of serbian musicians that play in macedonian functions....

Anyway, i find it strange that a midget and almost non-existent minority group like the slovenes have a bigger and better facilities then the macedonians who are bigger in numbers and more influential/active. I guess thats the way things are.

You cannot compete against the midgets if our own (Adelaide) community suffers from changes in community and religious ideologies evident in the past 15 years.

Fair enough...but the point I want to make is that these types of events are privately promoted, in this case I assume its by Macedonians...so in an effort to make a couple of extra bucks, these guys are happy to hire out the slovene hall ahead of the Macedonian one, thereby adding more money into the slovene coffers...thanks for coming.

Until we learn to help our own we will slowly become obsolete as a 'community'...
