Anyone see the issue with this aircraft

The first photo below is of a Mat aircraft in Krf, in our southern neighbour.

It is not MAT, rather Mat, not an acronym, not Macedonian Air Transport, just Mat.

MAT or any aircraft with the titles 'Macedonia' was/is unable to fly south of Macedonia. However Mat is, it is not 'Macedonian'.

Since MAT went bankrupt no new airline venture has had the plans of making an airline with the title 'Macedonia'. I have always had my suspicions over the MAT bankruptcy, still think outside forces were the cause. Nevertheless, the directors were an absolute disgrace and it would have been a combination of factors/people which resulted in the airline becoming defunct.

I suggest when flying into MK to not fly this airline, Mat or Skywings, the other carrier in MK. Do not support them in any way and suggest all your friends and family to do the same.

Until a carrier based in Macedonia has title 'Macedonia' in their name, i will not support them. I would expect every other Macedonian to do so as well.

This is a win for the people south of us. Not be be pessimistic but i cannot see a carrier being developed with the title 'Macedonia' within the next 3-4 years. I hope I am wrong.

As you might notice the rudder has the colours of our flag, that has recently been removed. When painting the tail of the aircraft, the rudder requires a specialised procedure, it cannot be completed as easily.

This was the previous owner of the exact same aircraft, in a MAT livery.

This is SkyWings, note the similarities between the liveries with the Mat aircraft?

I would have to say this is personally my favourite airline which graced Macedonia's skies. Anyone like to suggest why another carrier with a similar livery has never been developed? Note the flag on the tail

Palair was the worst airline ever. They wouldn't even give passengers a glass of water when we flew with them in 94!

Bij, What about when they refused to serve pork meat?

I dont think you can take any airline seriously with just 2 planes, i either fly with Austria Airlines or Turkish Airlines. Its much better flying with Turkish because geographically its closer. All up you fly 18 hours in the air from Melbourne to Skopje.

Frank you are unlikely to see another carrier with the name Macedonian Airlines as this brand name is owned by Olympic Air. It is doubtful even if Macedonian Airways would be allowed for being too similar.

Frank, I reckon the airline business is too cut throat for small nations like Macedonia...if we had really clever businessmen in the Balkans, who could put aside their rabid nationalism for a few seconds I'm sure we could have a strong regional airline (multi-national) that would cater for the needs of the Balkan region, in time this regional airline would form a strong allience with one of the larger European carriers...but that's for another time...

I think that since 1992 when they had a bulgarian disaster of stranded passengers for 2 weeks waiting for parts.I think the only reliable & cheaper way is with turkish airlines. It's good & clean & fun.My experience with palair is that back in 1995 their plane was loaded with shiptars & smelt really bad of urine & shit. They didn't clean the toilets. We were served pork rolls to which i was as sick as a dog for a week.
I remember flying with mat we had to wait in austria for half a day until supposedly their lease was re-signed again with some american company.I don't want to fly again with these mickey mouse airlines until then the macedonian government must produce an airline
with a macedonian name, then i will consider flying.

I would love to try Turkish airways. I think it would be more compatible with our tastes and maybe you could get a real coffee. George S jus don’t fly Qantas there’s worse things than bad food with airplanes.

years ago i was going to start a charter plane business to macedonia with the full 16 ray sun symbol emblazioned.I had the pilots & was ready to do it.The authorities said im not allowed to use the insignia as i'm not allowed to use it because it's greek. Now today it's too cost prohibitive.
You know why the turkish airlines are the best because it's direct & more convenient. The people on board they are so polite & helpfull especially at the counter. The food on the plane is so good. The coffe is so good as well.
If macedonia is to start an airline they should take a leaf out of the turkish airlines. This
time Onur you can take a bow!

Could you possibly disclose a bit more information regarding your ambitions?

In particular what aircraft you planned to use, airline name and possible destinations?

Where did you track down your pilots? Also are you from the land of down under?

I have flown with Turkish Airlines, and both the service and food were excellent, only the breakfast was a bit questionable, probably as they don't serve pork/bacon. The kiselo mleko they served us was the best I have ever tried!

The Turkish spicy sausage fried well and put in a roll would be a great substitute for bacon and eggs. It’s a beef sausage with lots of spices in it kind of like our sausages. You really don’t miss not having any pork in it and I love my bacon and all those processed small goods. Or the mni Turkish pizza with mince beef or spinach and cheese would also be a great breakfast.

Guys, you already shouldn't eat pork meat for your health Porks have double or triple amount of animal fat than other animals and it`s harmful for blood vessels of your heart. Animal fat is no.1 reason of heart attacks, especially for men.

I don't eat pork but it`s not because of religious beliefs but for health purposes or i would eat if it wouldn't be that harmful.

                          The Turkish spicy sausage...
It`s called Sucuk, Sujuk. It`s done by fumigation of meat and spices. I am sure it`s more healthier than bacon and more useful to our body because of various spices.

the mni Turkish pizza with mince beef or spinach and cheese
It`s called Lahmacun, lahmajoun. Some says that Italians invented pizza by copying our Lahmacun hehe

I am not sure about lahmacun but i think you should have sujuk in Macedonia. Maybe with some other name or with similar style

We have our version of Italian pizza, we call it Pastrmailia:

We call this as "Pide" and the ones in Turkey exactly looks like this one.

                              Btw, we have "Pastirma" but it`s hard pressed, air-dried spicy beef. It`s consumed by cutting it in thin slices and it looks like this;

It`s believed that Pastirma(means "pressed" in english) comes from early medieval era and it was the most favorite meal of a horseman cuz it doesn't get contaminated for very long time even in warm conditions because it`s prepared by drying out all of it`s moisture. I think it`s the only way to store meat without refrigeration. There are Pastirma in all countries with steppe culture and it`s name is same in all, Pastirma.

Pastirma is also favorite ingredient for "Pide" after the version with minced meat. Maybe your word "Pastrmailia" comes from the "Pide with Pastirma(Pastirmali)"

                              Ozimak said "mini Turkish pizza". It`s what we call as lahmacun. It basically the same thing with "Pide, Pastrmailia" but it`s small in size and round shaped like pizza. Lahmacun is this one in Turkey;
