Great work Daskalot, they are so brave to be dancing and singing in there language.
I believe that there has plenty more Macedonians that are too afraid to attend this type of thing, which is understandable.
God bless our Macedonian brothers and sisters in Aegean Macedonia.

I have been there during this panagir. Something about the Macedonian music being the protest of Macedonians is quite special and inspirational. Perhaps having roots from Greek occupied Macedonia makes it more special for me, but I don't think I will ever be able to describe the kind of elation and other emotions I felt the first time I approached the people and music at this event.

          Spolaj Ti Daskale

          This is excellent

the music seems to be holding the people's spirits. Our music is far melodius & welcoming. It is uplifting & people are enjoying themselves & above all are not afraid to express who they are.the facts are that macedonians exist & are expressing their music & culture is phenomenal.

You are right Daniel, Many Macedonians don't go to these festivals merely afraid of being seen..
example, my tetin went to the Ovcharani Festival this year and asked one of his cousins that live there why he didn't attend..he's reply was that if he gets seen at a Macedonian Function he could lose his job and business...he had too much to lose...
I betting there's 10's of thousands like him..
The Macedonians originates it, the Bulgarians imitate it and the Greeks exploit it!

This person must have been from somewhere else in Greek occupied Macedonia, not Ovcharani. Everyone from Ovcharani would have been there without question.
