Patele
From the village of Ppezhani, Tashko Popov, Dimitar Popov-Skenderov and Todor Trpenov were beaten and sentenced to 12 years prison. Pavle Mevchev and Atanas Popov from Vrbeni and Boreshnica joined them in early 1927, they were soon after transferred to Kozhani and executed. As they were leaving Lerin they were heard to shout "With our death, Macedonia will not be lost. Our blood will run, but other Macedonians will rise from it"Tags: None

Here is a song about Marko Lerinski who died in Patele. The Bulgarians have hijacked this and given it their pro-Bulgar twist. It is a Macedonian song sung in the region... Enjoy!

Patele's name was changed in Aug 1926 inorder to Hellenize the area and eliminate any evidance of Macedonian history existing (obviously the above video shows it has not succeeded). Just like they renamed everything else, such as names of villages, peoples names, rivers, etc. Greece went evan as far as changing the names on tomb stones or removed them all together.
Below is information i found from records kept in Greece.
Name of Community or Municipality: Agios Panteleimon
Code of settlement: 63110501
Old name: Pateli
Date of renaming: 31/8/1926
Official Journal: 346/1926
New name: Agios Panteleimonhttp://www.macedoniantruth.org/forum/showthread.php?p=120873#post120873

Yeah that's interesting Bill. You're right Daskale, why rename something that was always Greek? From the village of Ppezhani, Tashko Popov, Dimitar Popov-Skenderov and Todor Trpenov were beaten and sentenced to 12 years prison.
