Sounds Great, lets hope our people will support this event.

Rogi, Do you know what movies they are going to show?? I was thinking of a sneak peak of Milcho Manchevski's new movie.

        What a great initiative!

I'll miss out as I live in Perth, but very happy for the Melbournians that will be able to attend

When are we going to get something like this in Sydney?? Perhaps we wont because there are no cinemas in Rockdale. hehehe

            anyway, great initiative!

              Thanks Bij!

It would be great to organise one in Sydney too, get a team together and let's talk - perhaps next year we can have them running simultaneously, or as a travelling tour.

Bij you would need to be a Vladika supporter to have this so called festival in Sydney.

Sydney folks are putting together a petition just to see the Premier in Sydney. You know, the cinema thing is cool but mate you need to ask how someone got the Macedonian premier to their 1st of Show in Melbourne when 30,000 Sydney siders need to sign a petition to see the bloke.

Why didn't the people put on some Australian Macedonian films like, "the prodigal son"? Too gay for our vladika lovers.

Hey Boge, care to elaborate a little further on just what you're talking about? Because none of it is relevant.

This is a film festival, you can forget your crap and leave it out of it, it bears no relevance. If you're not happy that there is going to be a Macedonian film festival, nobody is forcing you to attend. Wow some people are real downers.

I do think that most Macedonians, I base that on the interest so far, are very happy about this.

As for Gruevski coming, the reason we could get him is because we worked the whole thing around his schedule, and that's not been easy.

Also, as far as I am aware, it does not seem like there will be any large-scale gathering with the Macedonian community in Melbourne either.
For the life of me I cannot understand or explain why.

Next year, hopefully, we can show many more Macedonian movies, including Australian-Macedonian movies and (if all goes well) run a contest on submissions for short-films from Macedonians in Australia and hopefully get the likes of Milcho Manchevski.

Boge, thats a slap in the face i cant believe what im reading here what has the Vladika got to do with this Film Festival??

Unbelievable the organizers have busted their guts trying to organize this Film Festival shouldnt you be showing your support instead of calling us "Vladika Lovers" ??? Im not an organizer by the way but i can tell you the people organizing this are great blokes who've worked tirelessly for our community they deserve alot of respect for this.

Rogi, Excellent work and i can only hope it turns out to be a fantastic event because our community really needs this.

I have no idea as to whether being a Vladika lover is a necessary pre-requisite to attract the attention of Gruevski. But I would ask Boge what matters of Macedonian significance would he be willing to participate in regardless of Vladika allegiances.

Boge, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Consistency should be the key. The Sydney Macedonian community is huge and should not be ignored by Gruevski. I will assume the Melbournians are simply more organised and would hope there is nothing more sinister than that at play.

Sydney is huge mate, and is susceptible. I dunno where you're from mate but if you are from a whiff of the ditch you will know the happenings.I'll wait and see the doings in the city, but I'll tell ya that I have heard nothing. There is nothing happening from Brizzy to Albury.

Thank you for your time gospodine Veli Risto,
