The best Greek athlete is not a Greek

Hold your breath! Pirro Dhima -an ordinary Albanian from Himara in the course of years became Greek as many. In Greece he has been praised as a voice of the "Greek" minority of Himara, although they have always been Albanian. Whereas in Wiki, Pirro Dhima is listed among the most notable Greeks ever:

It's of interest how Greeks are despising him as being ALBANIAN. They loudly shouted slogans like that:

Alvane, Alvane, Den tha gineis Ellinas pote.
    which means...

Albanian, Albanian you'll never become a Greek.....

I am wondering if its a matter of time when the same Greeks will loudly claim Albanian origin of Theodoros Kolokotronis, Laskarina Bouboulina, Georgios Karaiskakis and many others?

Pirro Dhima is truly a squeezed lemon. The funny thing is that Greece utilized his talent while Dhima was in his best form. Being retired from his activities, he really has nothing to offer anymore. Do you know why Greek journalists are angry with him? Its because DHIMA voted in favor of the government decision to not give funds to journalists

Pyrros Demas DOES come from the Greek minority of Albania. Do you dispute that? And yes, he trully IS the greatest Greek athlete of our time.

Of course, this isn't a true story. That's why it is in broken Greek, "translated from an Albanian newspaper" which I guess doesn't exist either. Well, the links have indeed dissapeared.

        Boumboulina was indeed an Arvanite.

Colocotrones and Caraiscaces were not Arvanites, this has been discussed in several threads. Since you're an Albanian, why don't you tell everybody here if Albania claims them. Does it or not? And why not?

Did they have any choice in the matter.Or was it a forced assimilation??If he was known as an Albanian then of course there would be racism. Then if it wasn't for these ?Albanians embracing greek Greece wouldn't exist.I wonder in that event if Albania would claim people who renounce their citizenship & Identity.
"Ido not want an uprising of people that would leave me at the first failure, I want revolution with citizens able to bear all the temptations to a prolonged struggle, what, because of the fierce political conditions, will be our guide or cattle to the slaughterhouse"

My point, towards you, regarding the 1821 fighters was "If you don't believe Greece, why don't you ask Albania, or Arvanites themselves?" (they have many associations).

As for Albanian athletes, it would be easy to prove it, if any of their athletes had presented a fake ancestry in order to become Greeks. A simple journalist research in their villages (some interviews with neighbours and relatives) would be enough. Albania would have both the capacity and the interest to provide such proof. Well, can we have it?

If that's the case then why don't they stop pretending to be greeks. You know the situation in the navy where they are told they must stop speaking in Albanian.AS to the sports lot of athletes defect from their countries.eg in Australia we have costa tszu gaining citizenship eventually they defected back to Russia for business reasons.
The Albanians or arvantes have not given up their culture or their identity .they can switch whenever they want like swirching a switch.Tnot all that He moral of the storey is being greek is not what they cracked out to be.
