Why are you jumping the gun. Do you honestly believe that modern "greece" will recognize any minority? Do you know how many times they have been asked to do so? I recommend the title for this topic to be changed. This will only dupe Macedonians into actually believing this to be the case.

      Here's something similar from 2009 - http://micnews.com.mk/node/17132

where the UN asked the modern "greeks" to recognize the Macedonian and the Turkish minorities.

UN ASKING GREECE TO RECOGNIZE MACEDONIAN MINORITY
      MIC – March 6, 2009 – 8:46am

The United Nations asked of Greece to recognize the existence of the Macedonian and Turkish minorities. In the report of the independent minority rights expert Gay McDougall, Greece is asked to protect these groups in keeping with the Declaration on Minorities and the basic international agreements on human rights. Greece is also expected to fully implement the decisions of the European Court for Human Rights that allows minority associations to use of the words "Macedonian" and "Turkish" in their names and to freely express their identity.

It's a step in the right direction. But this does not solidify full recognition.

Greece has to recognize first the MACEDONIAN NATION, the Macedonian state with its constitutional name as Republic of MACEDONIA and the Macedonian genocide it practised for almost 100 years.

International law still favors the conqueror and the "Rights by Conquest" has not been pushed aside or become obselete by that other international right, the right to self-determination.

This probably isn't making alot of sense, but there has been a battle in international law between the Rights of the conqueror, over the rights of the conquered (Principle of Self-Determination - since 1919). What history has shown us is that the Principle of Self-Determination has been applied selectively over the last century, and that it was never applied to the Macedonians. In actual fact Europe made sure that the Macedonians were "eradicated".

People have been telling the Greeks to recognize us for about a century, but the overriding European policy has been to eliminate us. The Final Solution is in the fine print of the Peace Treaty of 1919 - the Principle of Self Determination, enshrined in International Law in that year is not applied to the Macedonians, and the Treaties between Greece, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia deliberately avoid any mention of the "local natives".

Therefore I would not get my hopes up.
