A more valid criticism might have mentioned building bridges or fixing roads instead of statues. I am all for getting rid of this communist mentality. Macedonia faired the least under communism in the SFRJ.

I agree 100% with Ljubanec. Imagine how much infrastructure you can improve with 500 billion euro. Skopje is a beautiful city anyway. For that amount of money you can build a whole metro network and new road systems. Not do so when it's too late, like they're doing now in Sofia.

PS. Did the earthquake in Sofia last week cause any damage? Tremors were heard in Macedonia from it.

He he he, 500 million of course...It's still a lot! The earthquake was scary, but did not cause any serious damage.

Razer you could allways get big daddy the eu to pay for it.I hope they stop with the statues only in main cities not in every town & village.
