The jihadists caution they have not forgotten that Serbs and Croats fought against Bosnian Muslims in the 1992-95 war.
And the Balkans, which, as everyone knows, is renowned for it's tolerance of ethnic and religious minorities, has not forgotten the jihadists either.

This would be one way to settle old simmering scores, I suppose. Evidently, the jihadists have little to no regard for the living muslims of the Balkans and their honour and respect is reserved for their dead only, the martyrs of Islam. I guess, if their end goal is to send every Balkan muslim to paradise, regardless of whether they are moderate or not (the Balkans do not discriminate), then they will act on these threats.

Outrage as Saudi football team SNUBS a minute's silence for London terror victims

The Saudi Arabian soccer team failed to line up for a minute's silence for the London terror victims on Thursday night ahead of a game against Australia in Adelaide.

The Saudi Arabian soccer team refused to line up for a minute's silence for the London terror victims on Thursday night because it is not in keeping with their culture.

A spokesman for Football Federation Australia explained they were told a minute of silence was 'not in keeping with Saudi culture' ahead of the match.

Fans were left outraged at the display ahead of the World Cup qualifier against Australia in Adelaide.

Pictures show the Australian team lined up at the halfway mark, with the Saudi players ignoring the gesture as they get in formation to start the game.

Saudi players on the bench refused to stand for the minute's silence.

A spokesperson from the Football Federation Australia told Daily Mail Australia they had been advised prior to the match that the Saudi team would not be taking part.

'The FFA sought agreement from the Asian Football Confederation and the Saudi national team to hold a minute's silence in memory of those lost in Saturday night's terror bombings in London and in particular the two Australian women,' the spokesperson said.

'Both the AFC and the Saudi team agreed that the minute of silence could be held.

'The FFA was further advised by Saudi team officials that this tradition was not in keeping with Saudi culture and they would move to their side of the field and respect our custom whilst taking their own positions on the field.

'The local broadcaster, FOXSPORTS, was informed of this prior to the minute's silence taking place.'

Australian and British football fans on social media were furious, and lashed out against the Saudi team.

'Minutes silence for London terror, Saudi players wandering around like they don't give a f***, Saudi fans shouting the whole time #AUSvKSA,' a man named Adam tweeted.

Others called for official measures to be taken against the team.

'I hope FFA call out Saudi Arabia on the clear lack of respect shown prior to KO. Not participating in the minutes silence is disgusting,' user PG3_12 wrote.

However, some Saudi fans claimed it was not within Islamic culture to take a moment of silence to respect the dead.

'They come from a different culture. They just don't understand the point of being silence for a minute to show sadness.. we never do it in KSA,' one fan wrote.'

The majority of the Saudi side are Muslim, and to honour the dead, it is understood they pray, give to charity and speak highly of the person, but rarely observe silence.

Minutes of silence are a common occurrence in the Premier League, and Muslim players are not known to boycott the mark of respect.

The game added extra tension to an already important match, but Australia came out on top with a score of 3-2.

Saudi FA, FFA, FIFA and the AFC have been approached for comment. Two Australians were killed in Saturday night's terror attack on London Bridge and nearby Borough Market.

Nanny Sara Zelenak, 21, was confirmed dead on Wednesday, after her mother flew to London to try and find her.

      SNIP

Shia imam Sheikh Mohammad Tawhidi told Daily Mail Australia the Saudi Arabian team's decision not to participate in the minute of silence was not about the minute itself, but about the people who were being mourned.

'[Muslims] regularly mourn over a person if a leader dies or if there is an attack of some kind,' he said.

'They did not stop for a moment of silence because according to Wahhabi Islam - which governs Saudi Arabia - it is not wrong or a sin for a Muslim to kill a non-Muslim. In their eyes the attackers are martyrs who are going to paradise.

'If they stand for a minute of silence, they are against their Muslim brothers who fought for jihad and fought the 'infidels'.

He noted this may not be the personal view of every player within the team, but they would have been 'ridiculed' in Saudi Arabia had they commemorated the victims of the London terrorist attack.
      Humans of the lowest order.
If I ended up in their country I would have to make sure my wife is respectfully covered up in appreciation of their culture and laws. Nor could I drink alcohol or whatever else they supposedly insist upon.

Tolerance my arse from those Muslims.

I appreciate diversity and truly believe that multiculturalism has had a huge positive impact on Australian society, greatly contributing to making Australia the best place to live on the planet.

Today in Australia, there's not a single course or training package, that doesn't include some type of diversity training and now that education is largely standardised across all of Australia, I'm guessing that most people are receiving the same information.
Medium to large private sector and government sector employers have in-house diversity training and refresher courses for their staff, this training has greatly increased cultural awareness in this country.

We should respect the manner in which Muslims choose to observe loss of life but they too should respect our customs as well and this is the problem here, the KSA teams perceived cultural ignorance in this matter.

I don't buy into the excuse that Muslims would be seen as 'respecting' the 'infidels' because Muslim extremism has killed far more Muslims than it has ever killed infidels and clearly, as mentioned in the article, Muslim players in the EPL don't seem to have too much trouble observing a minutes silence before EPL matches.

One of the core tenets of cultural tolerance is the understanding and ability to put aside ones cultural beliefs, worldview (however that is shaped), prejudices and biases, when dealing with other cultures...clearly for the members of the KSA team last night, this was beyond their ability, understanding or will.

The success of multiculturalism and a respect for diversity is a clear 'give and take' relationship, one that should be finely balanced, last night in Adelaide we witnessed a sad imbalance of that relationship.

The Muslim world has been in uproar for almost two decades about the way it is perceived in the western world, with claims that it is too often misrepresented.

Last night was a missed opportunity to chip away at those western misrepresentations, prejudices, biases and ignorance.
On what better stage than a sporting field and before a global audience, sadly they failed miserably and ignorantly.

Would love to here from 'Albo' on this subject...

When non-European or Anglo-Saxon nations start abiding to multicultural values and do the same thing, then I will be for it and appreciate it. The way I see it, it's nothing more than an attempt at diversifying Anglo-Saxon and Europeans out of existence. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but if you have a more sane explanation why all the places where multi-culti is always pushed are white/euro/euro-derived, then I would love to hear it.

‘Space to rage’: Victoria’s Islamic leaders call for taxpayer-funded refuges where youths can vent

            8 June 17

The State Government will consider pulling its funding of Victoria’s peak Islamic group in the wake of revelations it wanted taxpayers to foot the bill for “safe spaces” for young Muslims to share their extreme views. The Herald Sun revealed today that the Islamic Council of Victoria wants young Muslims to have access to taxpayer-funded “safe spaces” in which they can make “inflammatory” comments. Premier Daniel Andrews slammed the Council’s call as “wrong”, saying the places would be a “hate space”. “There is no safe way to rail against the West,” he said. “It is wrong, it is not going to receive any state funding. “We will be having a very close look at the Islamic Council of Victoria’s funding in a broader sense because I am very troubled, very troubled, by the suggestion that we might have a space where people could be radical as part of a deradicalisation program. “We’ll be having a close look at the Islamic Council of Victoria’s funding and their approach to these matters in a boarder sense. “We will not be supporting this.” In a highly controversial submission to a parliamentary inquiry into freedom of religion, the Islamic Council of Victoria is demanding that funding for federal counter-terrorism and anti-extremism programs be diverted to create the refuges. “Muslim young people are feeling more emotionally overloaded. A safe space is needed for them to meet and talk about a range of issues in emotional terms, where they can be frank and even use words which in a public space would sound inflammatory,” the submission says. “That they cannot express irony, humour, anger or joy in words and facial expressions that would make them a target for ‘surveillance’ is a cause for despondency leading to mental health issues among many.” Vice president of Islamic Council of Victoria Adel Salman denied they wanted rage rooms.

“(The submission) talks about a range of emotions, one of them being anger, were not asking for rage rooms … we’re actually asking for youths to express themselves with a range of emotions and not to be judged,” he told 3AW. Multicultural Affairs Minister Robin Scott said: “This idea is deeply unhelpful and wrong. Under no circumstances would we support the diversion of state funding from counter-terrorism initiatives for such a proposal.” The Herald Sun can reveal that in the wake of Monday’s deadly siege in Brighton, Victoria is putting radical new anti-terrorism measures before tomorrow’s meeting of Australian governments, including posting of federal specialist police at Melbourne airport and other national airports. Access to phone-blocking technology at major event sites such as the MCG will also be sought, so authorities can beam a single message to scoreboards and screens. Yesterday, the mother of Chinese-Australian Kai Hao, who was shot dead by jihadi Yacqub Khayre in the Brighton siege, broke down as she paid tribute to her only son. “I feel like my world has ended ... I hate that terrorist that tore my family apart,” she said. But the Islamic Council questioned whether the attack was terrorism. “We understand that the police are investigating this as a potential terrorist attack but note that the perpetrator, himself, appeared to be confused as to who he was acting on behalf of, claiming allegiance to both IS and al-Qaeda — known enemies,” it said. “Whether this act was inspired by an evil warped ideology or was in fact the actions of a deranged violent individual, this does not change the reality that a horrendous crime was committed ...” The council’s submission to the federal inquiry also slams national laws to impose control orders on terrorism suspects as young as 14, saying this has “a dampening effect on the freedom of religion for Muslim Victorians”. It wants the control orders reviewed and for taxpayers to fund counselling for Muslim parents of children affected by the orders. “This will acknowledge the risks to mental health, employment, rental housing, poverty and education as a result of any unforeseen consequences of legislation which disproportionately affects Muslim youth,” the submission says. The council has received millions of dollars for programs since 2001, including a $850,000 youth officer grant over four years and $550,000 for an “empower youth” program over three years. Tim Smith, parliamentary secretary to Opposition Leader Matthew Guy, said the submission was “head in the sand ignorance that will do nothing to improve social cohesion”. “If this is what the ICV believe then they need a reality check,” he said. The submission, made before the latest terrorist attacks in London and Melbourne, says “Islamophobia” is a reality imposed on the state’s estimated 200,000 Muslims. “(It is a) daily threat limiting our freedom to enjoy going to work and school, to apply for jobs, to walk safely in the street, to wear what we want, and to practise our faith free of fear,” it says.

After this incident from a couple of weeks back:
              https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-54632353

Seven people have been charged over the death of a French teacher who was beheaded close to his school last week. Samuel Paty, 47, was targeted for showing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad to his students. His killer, 18-year-old Abdullakh Anzorov, was shot dead by police shortly after last Friday's attack. But seven people, including two students and a parent of one of Mr Paty's pupils, were detained in the days following the killing. On Wednesday, prosecutors said six of the suspects had been charged with complicity in a terrorist murder and placed under judicial investigation. One man is accused of having close contact with the killer and faces the lesser charge of associating with a terrorist.
Macron and Erdogan have been going back and forth with insults and threats. Macron is receiving the backing from EU leaders such as Merkel on his 'crackdown' against extremist elements whereas Erdogan's statements and calls for a boycott are being echoed by middle eastern leaders.
              https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-54692802

The mosque in Pantin, north-eastern Paris, was among the first signs that something this time was different. The building, shaped like an aircraft hangar with tiny windows perched high up in its corrugated walls, stands empty and closed. Outside is an official notice, taped in plastic against the rain, announcing its forced closure by the government for "involve[ment] in the Islamist movement", and for sharing a social media video targeting teacher Samuel Paty. The French government's general crackdown on radical Islamism, in response to the beheading of the history teacher outside Paris this month, has been rapid and tough - a blizzard of inquiries, closures, plans and proposals that have sometimes been hard to keep track of. "Fear will change sides," President Emmanuel Macron is widely quoted as telling his Defence Council last week. The government has announced more than 120 searches of individual homes, the dissolution of associations accused of spreading Islamist rhetoric, plans to target terrorist funding, new support for teachers, and fresh pressure on social media companies to police content more efficiently. Nothing on this scale happened after other attacks on President Macron's watch, despite the violent murder of some 20 people during his tenure, among them police officers, a young woman at a train station and shoppers in a Christmas market.
              Now this from today:
              https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-54729957

Three people have been killed in a knife attack at a church in the French city of Nice, police say. Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi said there had been a "terrorist attack at the heart of the Notre-Dame basilica". One elderly victim who had come to pray was "virtually beheaded". A suspect was shot and detained shortly afterwards. Mr Estrosi spoke of "Islamo-fascism" and said the suspect had "repeated endlessly 'Allahu Akbar' (God is greatest)." President Emmanuel Macron is on his way to the scene. Anti-terror prosecutors have opened a murder inquiry and France raised its national security alert system to its highest level. Mr Estrosi compared the attack to the recent murder of teacher Samuel Paty, who was beheaded close to his school outside Paris earlier this month. Police have not suggested a motive for the attack in Nice. However, it follows days of protests in some Muslim-majority countries triggered by President Macron's defence of the publication of cartoons that depicted the Prophet Mohammed. There have been calls in some countries for a boycott of French goods. Meanwhile, two further attacks took place on Thursday morning, one in France and one in Saudi Arabia. A man was shot dead in Montfavet near Avignon after threatening police with a handgun. And a guard was attacked outside the French consulate in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. A suspect was arrested and the guard taken to hospital.

Pakistan has summoned France’s ambassador in Islamabad to express its deep concerns over what it called “systematic … Islamophobic acts” in the European country. Ambassador Marc Barety was summoned to the foreign office in Pakistan’s capital on Monday morning, a day after Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan criticised French President Emmanuel Macron for “encourag[ing] Islamophobia”.

Many people in Karachi took to streets to protest the alleged abduction and forced conversion of a Christian girl to Islam. Arzoo Raja was abducted in broad daylight from outside her house in Karachi’s Railway Colony on October 13. The parents of the 13-year old were later told by police that she had converted to Islam according to her own free will and married her 44-year-old abductor Ali Azhar. Arzoo’s family lodged a police complaint and filed a petition in a local court to seek her safe return. Following this, in a shocking ruling on October 27, the Sindh High Court validated the child marriage and refrained police from arresting the prime suspect.

The girl's mother Rita Masih said she and her family had been threatened by men in civilian attire on court premises. Around 400 people, mostly Christians, gathered outside St Patrick's Cathedral and the Karachi Press Club on Wednesday to demand a fair trial and justice from the Sindh authorities, police and judiciary. The protesters, including the girl's family, slammed the Pakistan government and police. They shouted slogans, slamming the government for its 'indifference' towards minorities. They also expressed dismay over the lack of media coverage of the issue, saying that the plight of minorities was not given the attention it deserved. A cross party group of British parliamentarians also condemned the abduction, forced conversion and forced marriage of the teen. Abductions, forced conversions and forced marriages of girls and women from the minorities background has become a serious concern in Pakistan. It is estimated that approximately 1,000 -- mostly Hindu and Christian -- girls, are abducted, forcibly converted and forcibly married every year.

Austrian police are searching for at least one suspect after a multiple gun attack in the capital, Vienna, that killed four people. Seventeen other people have been wounded - some seriously - after gunmen opened fire at six different locations in the city centre on Monday evening. One attacker was shot dead by police, officials said. Interior Minister Karl Nehammer described the assailant killed by police as an "Islamist terrorist". Two of those who died in the random shooting were women and two were men. One of the women was reportedly a waitress. The second woman died of her wounds in hospital overnight, reports said. The victims were in a city centre area busy with people in bars and restaurants, near Vienna's central synagogue, but it is not yet clear if that was the target. Seven of the wounded have life-threatening injuries, Austrian media report. Addressing a news conference, Mr Nehammer said the heavily armed gunman killed by police was an Islamic State (IS) sympathiser and that his home had been searched and video material seized. Police tweeted that he had been wearing a fake explosive belt. Earlier, Mr Nehammer said at least one "heavily armed and dangerous" attacker was believed to be still at large. Officials were quoted as saying there could have been as many as four attackers. The interior minister urged people to avoid central Vienna and told parents to keep their children home on Tuesday if they could.........
