‘New’ Macedonia’s Failure is More than Symbolic

If Zoran Zaev’s government cannot show any actual results, it could at least signal that it intended to do things differently from the previous one.

Usually yes, but actually this article is a precursor of what is to come in due time.

The reality of Macedonia is that it is the same shithole it was when Zaev took office. That although the name issue and referendum took everyone's attention, Macedonia was and is still plagued with 100's of problems that are totally unrelated to the name issue.

At some point when all of the hysteria over a singular issue subsides, the same people who championed Zaev, will realize that most of the problems they had with their government when they put him in power are still there and as bad as ever.

He got his precious name change, now what? Standard of living is shit, courts are corrupt, government payroll bloated, crime unchecked, corruption unchecked, shit schools, shit infrastructure, shit healthcare, shit salaries, mass emigration.

He has nothing else to offer, and in short time even his most ardent supporters will see that and be calling for his head.
