Плаошник се подготвува за Светиклиментовиот универзитет

Скопско-охридската проектантска група во текот на идните пет месеци треба да го подготви и основниот проект за возобновување на Светиклиментовиот универзитет. Се очекува и реализацијата на проектот да почне во првата половина на 2010 година


Возобновувањето на Светиклиментовиот универзитет на Плаошник треба да започне на пролет, до кога ќе биде подготвен и основниот проект од страна на Скопско-охридската проектантска група. Според надлежните во Министерството за култура во текот на оваа година се работеше на конзервирање и реставрирање на откриените архитектонски остатоци од сите периоди.
-На Плаошник континуирано без прекин се работи на архитектонските остатоци од објекти на старите цивилизации, од македонско хеленистичкиот период, римскиот, преку доцно античкиот, па се до отоманскиот период. Сепак, најмногу е работено на истражувања и конзервирање на остатоците од Св. Климентовиот манастир. Работите ќе продолжат се до пролет кога треба да биде завршен проектот и тендерите за градежните работи, објаснува Паско Кузман, директор на Управата за заштита на културното наследство.

Според Паско Кузман во проектот ќе се води сметка и за остатоците од градбите кои ќе бидат вклопени во ентериерот и екстериерот на комплексот, а потоа и презентирани на јавноста.
- Целта на овој капитален зафат е да се откријат сите културни слоеви на локалитетот и остатоците од манастирските конаци на комплексот Свети Климент и Свети Пантелејмон" во кои се одвивала Светиклиментовата културна, духовна и просветителска дејност, велат во Министерството за култура. За возобновување на Светиклиментовиот универзитет од страна на Владата беа предвидени шест милиони евра.

Инаку, Светиклиментовиот универзитет кој е прв на Балканот и еден од најстарите во светот, бил просветно светилиште во 9 и 10 век. Во него се описмениле над 3.500 ученици.

Комплекс со конаци, факултет, галерија...
Проектната програма за возобновување на Светиклиментовиот универзитет предвидува повеќе комплекси. Во рамките на првиот се предвидени манастирски конаци и објект во кој ќе биде сместен теолошки факултет. Вториот предвидува Музеј на Плаошник и Галерија на икони, а во третиот комплекс ќе бидат сместени Светиклиментовата библиотека со почетен книжен фонд од 100.000 публикации од областа на хуманистичките науки, Македонски институт за хуманистички науки и Конференциски центар. Клоновите на светските универзитетски центри, се планирани во рамките на четвртиот комплекс.

Macedonia Takes Steps to Protect Two Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Sites

9 February 2010 | With its latest decision, the Macedonian government created a legal framework for the protection, conservation and prohibition of the destruction of two of its cultural heritage sites – the megalithic observatory in Kokino and the Ohrid Region.

The archaeological and astronomic site of Kokino, located in north-eastern Macedonia, has been declared as a cultural heritage site of exceptional importance, the Vecher newspaper reported today.

“In order to ensure additional international value of the Kokino site, which was listed among the oldest pre-historical observatories in the world by NASA a few years ago, the government has issued a decision aimed at providing this monumental entity an internationally recognised status, or trying to enlist it in the world heritage of the prestigious organisation,” Culture Minister Elizabeta Kancheska – Milevska told the publication.

In this way, Kancheska – Milevska said, data on this site identified as a Bronze Age rite area and an observatory, so far the only in the Balkans and a rarity in Europe, will be protected permanently. At the same time, destruction of the site will be prevented.

In addition to the Kokino site, the Macedonian government took steps towards the protection of the Ohrid region, by preparing a final version of the Plan for management of natural and cultural heritage, which has been submitted to the World Heritage Committee in Paris.

“The goal of such a plan is to prevent the violation or non-implementation of UNESCO provisions on protection of cultural heritage. In parallel, we have worked on a law on management of the world natural and cultural heritage of the Ohrid Region, which has already been submitted to the government for adoption,” the Culture Minister says.

Archaeologists Unearth New Finds near Strumica in Eastern Macedonia

26 April 2010 | A unique lamp from the fourth century with the image of Alexander the Great and gold jewellery from the second century BC were discovered by archaeologists in the Tsarevi Kuli area over the town of Strumica in eastern Macedonia.

The new finds discovered at the necropolis of the southern wall of the site confirm the theory that during Antiquity, Strumica was a well-developed trade centre, archaeologist Zoran Ruyak told the national newspaper Vecer today.

The jewellery finds suggest that Strumica , which during the second century BC was called Astraîon, had a well-developed trade center, a rich population and was in communication with the workshops in Thessaloniki and neighbouring towns, especially those of Isar Marvintsi and Vardarki Rid which are also being excavated this year, the archaeologist added.

The fact that the continued development of Strumica was not interrupted is confirmed by the findings dating to the fourth century and the unique light with the likely image of Alexander the Great.

The find is one of the most interesting ones and, as far as archaeologists know so far, it is unique, the arcaheologist told the publication.

There are currently around 100 people working on the Tsarevi Kuli excavations, Vecer noted. The research on the site started about a month and a half ago, and are financed by the government as part of the country’s main archaeological projects.

The Tsarevi Kuli archaeological site has yilded a number of important archaeological discoveries in the past, which shed light on the settlement’s history of over seven millennia. As BalkanTravellers.com reported last spring, arcaheologists working on the site discovered a collection of around 80 silver Venetian coins, as well as coins with the image of Philip II of Macedon, amphorae, vessels, cups, jewellery, fragments from vases, ceramics and figurines from the fourth century BC.

13th Century gold coins unearthed at Skopje Fortress

Archaeologists have unearthed at the Skopje Fortress a jug with 46 gold coins from the 13th century - when Skopje was ruled by John III Doukas - and 77 Venetian silver coins from periods of various rulers.

Manager of the excavations Dragi Mitrevski said the discovery was one of the most luxurious findings at the fortress and its importance laid in the fact that it determined the periods of rule in Skopje.

- The coins determine the historical moment of the demolition of the Byzantine city and the moment when Serbs conquered Skopje and ruled it in the next 110 years. The artifact is the most beautiful illustration of the moment from the history of the city. Now, we are researching the residues of these layers where the jug was found. Women's jewelry worn probably by the highest class in the Byzantine aristocracy was also excavated today. It depicts the specific historic moment in late 13th century, which is now being excavated, said Mitreski.

Minister of Culture Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska visited Wednesday the archaeological site, which is being researched for three years in a row.

- This is a crucial site and one of those that contain the entire cultural and historical tradition of the Republic of Macedonia, she said.
