Macedonian interests only, and the leader doesn't kissup to anyone.
Straso Angelovski is a good person and not bought by the west, too bad he has no support or money for success in the elections.
Слава му на Бога за се

No possibility the Council of EU to change voting process on enlargement in near future - German ambassador

The principle of unanimous decision-making regarding the enlargement issue remains in the Council of EU with the Treaty of Lisbon and it is unrealistic to expect that it might change in the near future, German

Skopje, 13 April 2011 (MIA) - The principle of unanimous decision-making regarding the enlargement issue remains in the Council of EU with the Treaty of Lisbon and it is unrealistic to expect that it might change in the near future, German Ambassador to Macedonia Ulrike Maria Knotz stated on Wednesday.

"The Council of EU is an institution that reaches decisions on EU's positions in the foreign policy and those decisions are reached with a consensus, which means that a member country is able to block a decision. Personally, I don't believe that the principle of making decisions with a majority of votes in the Council of EU could be introduced in the foreseeable future. It means that bilateral disputes will keep on being an obstacle in the enlargement process in the future," Knotz said at a panel discussion, which took place during a promotion of the "Europe after the Lisbon Treaty" collection in Skopje's American College University.

She noted the stance of EU and Germany that Western Balkan countries should join the Union once they meet the membership criteria. The European perspective, said Knotz, has no alternative in the region and the Treaty of Lisbon in this regard is a good news for Western Balkans. "The role played by national parliaments and that of the European Parliament, which is crucial, is not an obstacle in the process, instead they will assist by creating public awareness for support," the Ambassador noted.

The Treaty of Lisbon envisages decisions to be reached with a majority, which is a general rule, because consensus as a decision-making tool of the Council of 27 member countries is, by its nature, paralyzing. However, the rule of unanimity still applies for certain areas such as foreign policy, thus the enlargement process and the Union's tax policy.

The Lisbon Treaty, which was adopted in the capital of Portugal in December 2007 and entered into force two years later after being ratified by all EU members, is a response to two key challenges - how to enable EU to function normally with 27 countries having oftentimes different interests and how to ensure increased democratic legitimacy of the European policy covering almost every aspect of the lives of its citizens.

Nowadays, EU primarily focuses on actions to tackle the financial crisis and to address issues imposed by globalisation, according to Ambassador Knotz.

Wednesday's panel discussion was organised by American College University in cooperation with Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

Mate, that is no surprise. I don't think anyone expected the voting system in the EU to change.

Therefor what is the only other thing certain apart from death and taxes? For Macedonia to enter the EU they must change their name where the word Macedonia will not be included at all. Or the other option is to give up aspirations.

If you ask me for a prediction, I am sorry to say A Macedonian government in future will buckle and make the change. I think that is more certain than death or taxes.

DUI: SDSM Would Agree to Anything to be in Power

          Wednesday, 20 July 2011

After a fierce debate in Parliament, where the opposition led by SDSM accused the ruling Government of not protecting Macedonia's national interests, DUI from the podium in parliament said things that Macedonians suspected all along.

Some would say this is a sad day, but in reality, it's a good day when an ethnic Albanian party defends Macedonia's national interests from an internal culprit, in this case an ethnic Macedonian party.

The SDSM accused the ruling government of selling out Macedonia's national interest by allowing minorities in small villages who are over 50% of the population to fly their own flag which with the new law is three times smaller than the Macedonian flag. It also allows politicians to speak their own language if they receive a question from a member of their ethnic community. For the SDSM, this is 'selling out'! *In SDSM's defense, selling the biblical name of the country is a business transaction for which they received suticases with cash.

Ademi, one of the higher ranking DUI officials, appeared amused as he stood at the podium in Parliament. "Are you sure you should be talking about morals?" Ademi asked the opposition from the podium. "You (SDSM) were talking to us (DUI) about things that VMRO would not even consider. Don't sell yourself for something you are not, we all know who you are and what you do!" said Ademi to SDSM officials looking bleakly at the podium."

Ademi was not finished, he was just warming up...
"You (SDSM) were ready to offer us anything we asked for. Including making Albanian the official language on the entire territory, in Court and in Parliament, even letting us have someone from DUI as a Prime Minister. This was your promise to us."
SDSM officials remained gloomy during Ademi's entire speach. It only confirmed what Macedonian media wrote days after the elections. Namely, SDSM was ready to do just about anything to return to power even though they weren't elected.
Ironically, DUI has been under fire by the DPA for not getting anything from their coalition. http://macedoniaonline.eu/content/view/18669/1/
It is starting to make sense why many of the citizens of ROM are a lost cause when they have two main Macedonian political parties selling us out and then blaming the other of what sort of traitors they are.
While the ethnic Albanian parties are kicking back, reaping rewards and laughing at us, while making out as if they are defending us. What a mockery.

gledajte vo kavo vreme stignavne, ko Makedoncite sme po prosti od shiptarite. golem rezil.
