U.S. secretly financed opposition groups in Syria

State Department secretly financed political opposition groups in Syria and projects, including satellite television, which aired anti-government programs in the country, the U.S. newspaper Washington Post, citing a secret diplomatic documents from the website Vikiliks.

Satellite TV TV Barada, located in London, started work in April 2009, but has strengthened its work with the screening of mass protests in Syria in the framework of long-term campaign to oust President Bashar Assad. Television is closely associated with the Movement for Justice and Development Party, which is an organization of exiled Syrian based in London.

Diplomatic documents show that the United States since 2006 gave six million dollars of the Movement to manage the satellite channel and to fund other activities in Syria. Television is named after the river Barada, which passes through the center of Damascus.

The money derived from the time President George Bush after he froze political relations with Damascus in 2005, but continued financial support and Barack Obama even after his administration tried to rebuild relations with Assad. White House send an ambassador to Damascus, the first time in six years, the newspaper reminds.

It is unclear whether the State Department is still funded Syrian opposition groups, but telegramite show that money had been sent almost to September 2010. As part of this money is earmarked for programs and dissidents inside Syria, Washington postt not publish names and details nza programs at the request of the State Department, under which such discoveries would endanger the safety of these people.

        USA - a slut is a slut.

Kuwait Gives $181m to Libyan Rebels, Wants Gadhaffi Removed

          Monday, 25 April 2011

Libya’s Transitional National Council, the group representing rebels fighting Muammar Qaddafi, is getting 50 million dinars ($181 million) from Kuwait, according to council chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil.

Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed Al-Sabah, speaking at a news conference yesterday with Abdel Jalil, didn’t immediately confirm the contribution.
“Actions speak louder than words,” he said when asked if Kuwait had officially recognized the transition council.

Qaddafi’s forces fired shells and rockets at Misrata yesterday, countering Libyan government claims that the army was holding its fire into the western city, the Associated Press reported. Doctors said 32 people were killed and dozens wounded over two days, according to AP.

In Syria, security forces have detained at least 200 people in widespread sweeps as some officials announced their resignations following the killing of dozens of anti-government protesters, activists said.

The U.S. carried out its first missile attack from a drone aircraft in Libya. The Predator drone fired its missile April 23, the U.S. Defense Department said in an e-mailed statement, without elaborating. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization said a Predator strike destroyed a multiple-rocket launcher that had been used against civilians in Misrata.

Senator John McCain of Arizona, after traveling to Libya, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” program yesterday that the U.S. should increase its role in NATO air attacks even though putting “troops on the ground is out of the question” and would be counterproductive.

Is it rerally this 'spontaneous' revolution amongst the African and Arabian states??? or is it more by design, like 'painting by numbers'?

As the truth comes out (if it does) I think we will see a much different picture but your Western viewer will still prefer to believe it's, 'good democracy' winning over the 'bad dictators' or something like that, who knows?, who cares?

Gaddafi is still in power, and it fighting continues.

Anyway, does anybody know the origin of the placename 'Brega' in Libya? In Arabic the word is Burayqah - but not sure what it means.
In the name of the blood and the sun, the dagger and the gun, Christ protect this soldier, a lion and a Macedonian.
